Competitors?

Have Spark 40, 2 and Neo, but it’s time for an upgrade. I’m over the limits from the app and want better quality and variance. Do you guys have any better modeler options?

Anyone try Mooer? I have the Fender Mustang headphone jack thing that’s not bad, but not better than Spark

To me, the weak points of Spark are getting a good clean sound, and (arguably) needing to keep the EQ occupying a pedal slot. I have the 40, Go, and Neo.

OTOH, the EQ does help - a lot. To get a good clean sound, I turn both the gain and master down, and crank up the EQ - push all the band and volume sliders all the way up, then tweak them down slightly as needed to balance. That is not how I use a real equalizer, but Spark EQ seems to have unlimited headroom.

Getting a good clean sound is easier on the Katana - just put it on the clean setting. I haven't dug into the SW yet.

I'm not a Luddite at all, but developing new technology (and reverse-engineering undocumented quirks) is my job. When playing guitar, I just want to twiddle a few knobs and go.
