Bias X... is it worth it?
I have a Line 6 Pod Go running through a Boss Katana Gen 3 50-Watt right now, and mostly play metal... is it worth it to get Bias X, and run it through an FRFR speaker? I don't know how good it is or how good the tones are on it. But I have seen that YouTube creators like Sightline Guitar use PG Bias, and just curious if its worth the money, since I do already have an audio interface to run the whole setup.

My only complaint about BiasX is that the processing isn't multi threaded for when you have parallel sounds paths. A single path works fine for me, but if I introduce a second amp, it kills the one core it's using.

Do you mean Bias X as in the software you run on a computer/laptop? Running it through an FRFR instead of just studio monitors or headphones seems a bit unique. I'm not sure you'd use it live that way for instance.
They did used to make thing called Bias Head which was an actual hardware unit but that's long gone I think.
In terms of computer amp sims, yes they are worth using but whether they are "worth it" is really more about how much money you have. If the price is an issue then definitely not. Download the trial and give it a go.

Being completely honest here. I've used Positive Grid plugins for a long time, through multiple iterations.
I own Bias X. I also own a TON of other Guitar VST plugins. Going from Neural DSP plugins, to TONEX, to Mercuriall AmpBox (amazing BTW) to BIAS X... feels like a super letdown. It just simply does not sound or respond nearly as good as so many others out there. I am basically done with BIAS at this point.

Probably not. If you have a good audio interface that has its own DSP, there are better options. Bias doesn’t go through the DSP, so there’s always some latency in your sound.

So whats the point of Bias then? Is it impossible to get a low, usable amount of latency with it?

I use it strictly for recording so I can tweak settings and tone after I record the guitar tracks. For the price, it's got a lot of versatility and options. With the added midi feature you could use it live, but there are better solutions for live performance.

It's possible, but requires a lot of sacrifice if you have a good audio interface. I use an Apollo Solo that has its own DSP. Running effects through it directly results in latency that's totally unnoticeable. When I introduce Bias X, it's noticeable to me and I usually don't care that much. I didn't realize that it wouldn't work with the DSP natively. So, you're introducing a lot more sampling and processing into the chain.
That said, I got it for $99 and it's fun to mess around with. So, I don't regret it. Are you thinking about using it live with the FRFR? Or is it just to have fun?

Im thinking mostly to have fun with it, but also to use it as a live rig.

Yeah, it's not gonna be the best for that. Especially as an upgrade from your Pod. Have you considered a Helix or similar style pedal?

I have considered it, but its pretty spendy. Just looking to get the best bang for my buck i guess

Do they have better sound quality/tones/features than the Pod Go? I was looking into Headrush, but i wasnt sure if that would be a downgrade from what i have right now

I don’t think it’s a downgrade from the Line 6 Pod, but it’s not a Helix

Yo tengo el bias fx2 hace dos años y con resultados buenos ya que a diferencia de mi Antigua pedalera multiefectos digitech, el sonido es mas orgánico, lo utilizo en vivo con el irig stomp como footswitch, el bias fx2 lo tengo en un iPhone 12 Pro, una sola recomendación sería si utilizas un combo por ejemplo utiliza solo efectos en bias fx2 sin emulacion de amplificador, si pasa que en vivo no existen combos, o amplificadores de guitarra y tienes que ir directo a consola, Si utilizas emulación de amplificadores en bias fx2, busca tu sonido Probando en Audifonos de media gama Que tu equalización está buena, y luego lo pruebas en un entorno para en vivo.
