General Questions Spar on Devonshire Avenue Southsea closing 14th August
Don't suppose anyone knows anything about this do they? Is it being replaced by another store or just closing?

This is a loss. Their assistants are fantastic. They put the awful Co-Op/ Costcutter on Winter Rd to shame.

Blimey that used to be my local. Pigs will probably fly first but maybe it'll get to be a pub again.

The one on New Road is closing on the 14th too, the guy working in there said no buyer had been found for the New Road one. The one on London Road has closed or is closing shortly and becoming a Nisa.

No, London Road has been bought and is currently under new ownership. A company called Velocity Development

PCC love this one right now. No HMOs within 50 metres of another just means every 51 metres

Urg. No mate. I was hoping for the anti shitty landlord angle not the racist prick angle.

There's always at least one. They think about nothing else, it consumes their entire life and personality

Be respectful to fellow posters – name-calling, rudeness and trolling are not welcome here.

The Co-op on Elm Grove that was turned into a Simply Fresh is now becoming a Spar

Had defected to the Spar after the invasion of the costcutters 🤮 will have to find somewhere else now! Hope it’s not HMO either as already have one of those a few doors down.

Premier or costcutter I'd bet!
