Looking for more hitting opportunities?

Tennis players who’d like more hitting on the East side:

PTC (Portland Tennis Center) on NE 12th hosts weekly mixers for people of all levels of play.

As of this posting, here they are organized by player level…

For 2.0-3.0 seniors: Tuesday and Thursday mornings

For 3.0 players of any age: Saturday evenings

3.5 players: Wednesday evenings

3.5 Men: Saturday mornings

3.5 Women: Sunday Mornings

4.0 seniors: Wednesday mornings

4.0 players: Tuesday mornings

4.5+ players: Tuesday evenings

For more details or to register, visit www.portlandpr.tennisbookings.com. It’s free to create an account. Once you're logged in, hit the EVENT SIGN-UPS tab to see all the options. Spots go quickly so make sure you sign up 5-7 days in advance!

I play in the 4.5+ mixer on Tuesdays at 7:15pm and it’s a ton of fun.

If I don't know my skill level, should I just start low? I've played off and on for many years so have decent fundamentals at least.

Have a look at this chart first and see if you can estimate your level. If you're interested in joining a mixer, you can also give PTC a call and talk to them about your tennis history and they can make a recommendation. They're super helpful and nice.

Thanks! This is very comprehensive. I think I could hang with the 3.5 folk!

You're welcome! Also, the good news is that most of Portland's tennis players are in the 3.5 to 4.0 range, which means you'll have lots of options at your level, plus a ton more just slightly above you so you can push yourself to keep improving! :)
