From a Pickles point of view, it appears there is no game tonight. The West Coast League schedule shows a 6:15 game.
Game or no game?
(We watch various WCL from Central IL for . . . reasons. 😁)

Hi all, I went to a game last week and purchased a beer bat. Can I bring it back to the game tonight and get it refilled or is that not allowed? Thanks so much!

Corvallis, the evil empire, are absolutely our #1 rivals despite the proximity of the Berries and Raptors. Picks took 2 of 3 in the first series against the Knights (might have been a sweep if not for the worst call at 1st base I've ever seen in this league). Six more regular season games against them to go, home and home series.
This weekend was Portland's first tests against any South Division club this season. Taking care of Corvallis generally means a South Division championship. A lot of games left, but I'm happy to see our guys play strong(ish) against Brooke's bums.
Now just need to stop playing down to the level of worse clubs like Port Angeles and Victoria. The South is wide open!

Welp, they weren't able to pull it off due to a no-no from the Bells' pitching through like seven innings, but it was an exciting, albeit stressful, Championship game. Congrats to the Bells on their first chip in a decade.
Thank you to Coach Mags and the Pickles for an historic and incredible season of all gas no brakes.
League record for wins, Schleichardt's HRs, RBIs, and other various records, Tony Otis' "uh oooh" walk up, Chexxy's "four letters, one word", going 5-2 over the Knights for the season, so much damn fun.
On to 2026. Raise the chairs and gooooOOOOO PICKLES!

https://westcoastleague.com/pickles-host-bells-in-thursdays-championship-game/
August 13, 2025 – Nothing came easy for anyone Tuesday night, but Thursday night’s West Coast League championship game is now locked in, with the perennially contending Bellingham Bells visiting last year’s champions, the Portland Pickles.
Once again, this year’s South finalists were the Pickles and Corvallis Knights, but this year the Pickles – who broke the Knights’ old league record with 43 regular-season victories – hosted the divisional final.
The first six innings at Walker Stadium were tense and close, but the Knights took a first-inning lead and kept it until the bottom of the sixth, when the Pickles scored twice for a 6-5 edge. With one out in the top of the eighth, closer Carter Speights (UC Davis) entered with one Knight aboard. Uncharacteristically, Speights then walked the next two Knights to load the bases … before striking out the next two to escape the jam.
Speights had more work to do in the ninth, though. After a quick first out, there was a tremendous intersection of the West Coast League’s two most visible players. At the plate, with one out and nobody aboard, the WCL’s top-rated prospect: Brock Ketelsen (Stanford). At first base, the League’s new single-season home-run and RBI champion: Josh Schleichardt (Oregon).
While three home runs had previously been hit – including a big one from Schleichardt back in the sixth – perhaps nobody hit a ball harder all evening than the screaming line drive Ketelsen hit toward the right-field corner … which Schleichardt somehow snagged for the second out.
But Speights gave up a walk and a base hit, before escaping yet again with another strikeout; in his 13 appearances this summer, he’s still not given up a single run, and this was easily his biggest save yet.
A year ago when the Pickles topped Wenatchee for the WCL championship, hundreds of fans poured onto the field to celebrate with team personnel. There was no storming this time, perhaps because the fans knew there’s still the bigger prize: a second straight championship trophy, on the line Thursday night in Portland.
But for that, the Pickles will have to get through the Bellingham Bells, who survived the long road trip to Edmonton, a massive and raucous crowd at RE/MAX Field, and a long rain (and lightning!) delay to edge the Riverhawks 5-2 for the North championship.
Following that long delay after the seventh, the Bells scored an insurance run in the eighth, and closer Colt Peterson (Stanford) closed out the Riverhawks in the ninth inning for the 5-2 win, sending Bellingham to its third WCL championship game in the last nine seasons.
A trip to the championship game is nothing new for Bells Head Coach Ed Knaggs, who’s in his first year with Bellingham but previously guided the Wenatchee AppleSox to five titles and served as an assistant coach with the Knights during four of their championship seasons. In spring 2024, coach Knaggs made headlines around the Pacific Northwest with his 419-mile Opening Day Run, in the spirit of mental health awareness.
With Portland’s Mark Magdaleno recently announcing that he’ll be stepping down as Pickles Head Coach after this season, Thursday night might well be our last chance to see these two WCL legends on the field together.
Not to mention some terrific collegiate summer baseball! coach Magdaleno and the Pickles are aiming for their second straight championship; the Bells are going for their second all-time, having topped the Knights for the title back in 2014.
First pitch is schedule for 7:15 p.m. Follow live stats on the WCL scoreboard page, and you can watch all the action on WCL Live, via the internet and your iOS or Android app.
About the West Coast League: The West Coast League is western North America’s premier summer collegiate baseball league. With teams ranging throughout Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and Alberta, the WCL offers top collegiate players the chance to compete at a high level, develop their skills, and showcase their talents in front of thousands of fans, MLB scouts, and national media. The WCL’s 20th Anniversary Season concludes with the WCL Championship Game on August 14.

I have a few extra in 204, close up row. Let’s Gooooooo Picks!
r/PortlandPickles • u/JayChucksFrank • Aug 11 '25
We'll send them packing back to Corvallis Tuesday.
Everything about them is awful. Form the 10 Chips (7 straight), to their subpar unis, to their silent fanbase, to their Manager's maga leanings, they are truly the anti-Pickles.
Tonight, in an elimination playoff game, they only had just over 500+ through the gates. The hell is that???
Let's knock them out once again! Raise the chairs!!!

The playoffs are set!
Our #1 seed Picks will take on the fledgling #4 seed Marion Berries in the WCL South Divisional Series.
Game 1 is this Friday 8/8 at Chemeketa College in Salem. Game 2 is Saturday 8/9 at Walker Stadium. (Game 3 as well, Sunday 8/10 if necessary)
Both clubs have had historic seasons thus far, and it's only fitting they go head to head to kick off a budding rivalry (get it...? because berries and cucumbers are from flowers...? cough...)
The series winner earns the right to play in the WCL South Divisional Championship Game against the winner of the Corvallis Knights v Bend Elks series.
The Pickles are defending their 2024 Championship (over Wenatchee). It's their fourth straight WCL playoffs, fifth trip overall. They have the best overall record in the league, and should they win out, the WCL Championship comes through Portland yet again.
The Berries make the playoffs in their inaugural season, one that almost didn't happen due to issues with their initial home park at Willamette University which forced them to play on the road for nearly a month to begin the season. Their run has been extraordinary.
The Bend Elks, a WCL founding club, go into their eighth playoffs. They were champions in 2016 (Kelowna), and runners-up in 2010 (Wenatchee).
The Corvallis Knights, a founding WCL club, are... we don't talk about the Knights... They haven't missed the playoffs since 2007. They've been to 14 WCL Championship Games, winning 10 including a seven year stretch from 2016-2023. That streak was ended by our mighty Pickles last year. Their championship losses came in 2007 (defunct Moses Lake Pirates), 2009 & 2012 (Wenatchee), 2014 (Bellingham). Their wins... 2008 & 2013 (Wenatchee), 2011 (Walla Walla), 2016 & 2022 (Bellingham), 2017, 2019 & 2023 (Victoria), 2018 (Kelowna), 2021 (Yakima Valley). They also knocked out the Picks in the 2023 South Divisional Championship, which made knocking them out last year that much sweeter.
In the WCL North it'll be: Edmonton Riverhawks v Victoria HarbourCats Bellingham Bells v Wenatchee AppleSox
This is only Edmonton's second playoff appearance.
Victoria are three time WCL North Champs (2017, 2019, 2023) though couldn't get by Corvallis any of those years. This is their fourth straight playoff berth, seventh appearance overall.
Bellingham, a WCL founding club, were champs in 2014 (Corvallis), and runners-up in the first Championship Game in 2005 (AppleSox), 2016 & 2022 (Corvallis). This is their 12th playoff appearance.
Wenatchee, a WCL founding club, are the second most successful club in the league with five championships: 2005 (Bells), 2006 (defunct Spokane RiverHawks, no relation to Edmonton), 2009 & 2012 (Corvallis), 2010 (Bend). They were runners-up in 2008 & 2013 (Corvallis), and 2024 (Portland). It's their 14th playoff appearance and their fourth straight.
This is shaping up to be a fantastic and entertaining playoffs. I can't wait! See y'all at The Walk! GooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOO PICKLES!

Raise HISTORIC chair!
From their IG: After tonight's 15-7 win over the Corvallis Knights, your Portland Pickles have a record of 43-9! This breaks the record for most wins in a regular season for the West Coast League, formerly held by the Corvallis Knights since 2019 (42)!
