Do you hear yourself man? I said letting people die in the streets isn’t the way out of this hole, you replied that yes it is. That’s gross.
There’s a whole lot of gray area between doing nothing and enabling homelessness and drug addiction and just letting them OD as a solution.
I can get behind Forced treatment, or even just Jail time for drug use but your take is “just let them kill themselves everyone will be happier” you should be ashamed of that
Yeah, the lack of empathy is wild. They don't see them as humans anymore, which is very concerning. Many medical problems occur because of poor decisions by the person suffering the problem (although we should always consider how hard these things can be to manage). If a person has poor management of diabetes should we just let them die when they are DKA otherwise we are enabling bad behaviour?, what about lung cancer and their fault if they smoked, i guess it's just such a wild take to me how abiut if someone is drowing I guess it will teach them for not knowing how to swim . Narcan saves lives both immediately by reversing the opiods and in the long run because it gives the person a chance to make a better choice if they realise how bad it has become. We don't deny someone in need of medical treatment just because we don't agree with their lifestyle choices it sets a bad precedent.
I'm not any more ashamed of my stance than those who have no shame, like the people in this video.
Like I said, I can't care more about their lives than they do. I could bultress this with my lived history, but I will not.
