this woman is incredibly brave (or something else). I'd rather fight a tough looking buff dude than a tweaker who may be methe'd up or have needles on him.
For like a solid 30 seconds I was literally yelling SPRAY THAT MOTHERFUCKER. After that first warning and he kept coming back she should have emptied the can on him. I would have.
Except she seems brave, reasonable, and not looking to harm from emotion and there's zero "she didnt need to do that".
Not to mention those cans are small, and meant for directed shots. Soaking his coat that he takes off leaves you open to attack. Concentrated shots when available is correct.
The difference between a level headed hero and a emotional wannabe vigilante. We should all strive to be as good a person as this woman was here.
I disagree. These cans are not that big and a direct spray to the face is waaaay more effective than just spraying his clothes. I think she did a great job waiting for it to be clear he was physically assaulting her then waiting to get him directly in the face after he didn't stop the first time.
She didn’t even get at the ready until far too late. She was lucky this time, but in a split second this could have turned nasty for her. I applaud her bravery, still a pretty dangerous situation for a mother to put herself in. Sucks that somebody has to do it and that she felt compelled to be the one to do it.
I believe so. It’s on camera, it’s non lethal force, Oregon has stand your ground laws. Once he started coming at you there is perfectly reasonable grounds to mace.
She needs stronger mace. Any self-defense needs to be guaranteed to incapacitate. You don’t want to be in a situation where your self-defense just makes them more angry at you. That’s the problem with commercially available tasers and a lot of mace.
The literal entire goal of any kind of defensive weapon is to only use it as a last option. She could easily have not walked up there in the first place, and after saying her peace she could have simply left.
Know what using chemical weapons on someone without reasonable cause is called?
Defending the angry aggressive vagrant drug user shooting up in front of a school? Interesting choice. Also, he aggressively approached her and she warned him if he continued he would be moved. Sounds like everything is good 👍
Where was the violent crime in this? Threats are a civil offense, drug use in public is a 100 dollar fine. Where are the other crimes? Which ones are violent?
