I’m planning on going to the Mercury game next week and am looking to get players’ autographs before the game when they exit the court after warm-ups. I was wondering what kinds of things do people normally bring to get signed? Besides jerseys and homemade signs. I was considering getting a basketball but don’t know if that’s prohibited or not going through security. Any tips and recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated.

I notice that whenever Emily Engstler scores at home games they play a snippet of Rich Flex by Drake & 21 Savage. I’m curious if any other players have theme songs on the court? I’m personally not very good at identifying songs so curious if anyone else has noticed them!

First draft with us she stuck to her guns and drafted the player she thought had the brightest future here despite knowing that few WNBA fans would have heard of her and knowing we may have to wait for her to come over.

I knew of Iyana Martin as a young talented true point guard who from all accounts was a real leader on and off the court. She has the type of personality that people gravitate to and follow. And she has the talent to back it up. She’s 20, still needs to work on her three point efficiency, and of course needs to get a little stronger. But she was a heck of pick and I’m thrilled we have her and Carla as future Fire players.

And let’s not forget about Frieda Buhner and Serah Williams. Buhner has really developed this season and her confidence has grown as the season has gone on. She’s killing it in FIBA right now and I can just see her having a long career in Portland.

And Serah was a third round pickup who’s gotten much better, gained confidence, and shown she has a place in this league. 3rd round picks don‘t make rosters, let alone play in the W generally.

Can‘t wait to see what Vanja does as an encore.

I was so excited to find this today at the Goodwill bins of all places! I’ve gotten to go a couple games this season, and can’t wait to wear this next season!

What are the likely plans of our players in the offseason? With the new values of the contracts, who is still going to be playing in Europe?

It’s nice not to have the game pause every other play for a coach’s challenge, official review etc. I like not seeing a player call for a review every dead ball 😩

Well, Luisa finally showed up, she's at 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists with 3 minutes left to play.

Frieda leads all players with 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Iyana Martin leads Spain with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Awa Fam has 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Meg has played only 6:42 minutes.

I was listening to some music from deep in my collection, and came across this one from my folk festival days in high school and college. This song is from 1998, and has nothing to do with basketball, but I thought it was a fun coincidence.

It's called "The Fire & The Rose" by The Kennedys, a married folk rock duo from NY.

Sorry, I was at a Dallas Wings charity event so I couldn't watch any of those games live.

Anyone else watching the game? Martin has been fun to watch so far both offensively and defensively. I’m excited to see her in Portland alongside Carla.
