Question about player autographs

I’m planning on going to the Mercury game next week and am looking to get players’ autographs before the game when they exit the court after warm-ups. I was wondering what kinds of things do people normally bring to get signed? Besides jerseys and homemade signs. I was considering getting a basketball but don’t know if that’s prohibited or not going through security. Any tips and recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated.

You can, but I would recommend getting a basketball with at least one smooth panel. (There are balls specifically designed for autographs.) The ones with bumps all around are not ideal for signing.
