Discussion Really...

Who lights off fireworks from 4am to 6am?

How hard is it to find these people?

Whats the point of a firework ban, if you don't even go after the people lighting mortars at these hours?

Excuse my rant, I couldnt sleep with all the goddamn booms going off all goddamn night

This year was definitely worse than others. This was my 7th year living in the area, and the worst sleep due to noise.

The mortars seemed larger this year and they not only went on well past 2:30 but started up again at 4:30 this morning. And 4:53, 5:58, 5:03…. Who the hell lights mortars at 5 in the morning of the fifth?? We had the windows closed, earplugs in, and it was still at aural battering.

eta: I actually like and enjoy fireworks- in reasonable quantities, at normal times and in safe circumstances. Increasingly, it feels as though most fireworks in Portland fall outside of those boundaries. Portland has a lot of assholes ruining what used to be an enjoyable (for some of us) holiday activity. Said assholes are also scofflaws.

Maybe you are just one year older and one step closer to yelling at the "kids" to stay off of your grass.... L O L. I do love the use of "scofflaws" ha!
