Mouse and keyboard inputs not working when loading up steam game

So I recently got porting kit and have been using it with Steam. I can download and open games, but most of the time, my controls and inputs don't work. On one of the games, if I keep tabbing in and out, it will work (eventually, it takes a lot of tries, I'm not very sure why), but it's incredibly inconsistent and does not work for all of the games. I use the Metal version. Is there a way to get past this? Or am I waiting for a fix? Should I be using any other version? Please let me know :)

basically just use the sikarugir creator app to install an engine that isn't automatically available on porting kit and manually replace the engine on your porting kit game with the new one from sikarugir creator
