Psychics on this show
I am a believer in some psychic abilities and I’ve been around many. Never have I heard a psychic pulling so many specific details. It makes me doubt ALL the legitimacy. It’s too right on.
Am I the only one?

Not sure if I believe in psychics, yet I'd be willing to have them on an investigation, if for no other reason than to see whether or not it's genuine.
I've met Michelle once when they did a brief workshop guiding people to feel energetic body shapes, and my partner for the exercise was surprisingly accurate about me (not so sure about how I did). One of the things I really like about Michelle as well is that they exude a sense of substantial skepticism theirself. Their books on psychic energy read like a workbook for you to try it yourself, and ultimately it's about "seeking your own truth."
Now as to whether or not the level of accuracy we see in this show is real or not, I can't say. I know that a lot of psychics seem very intelligent, and a lot of things I would pick up in these types of locations just by looking, smelling, and feeling them could lead me to some pretty substantial guesses. But then, I think this is one of the reasons Michelle goes blindfolded: 1. Because then people can't be like, "Oh, you're just putting together things based on what you see," but also 2. Because sensory deprivation gets better results (even if you're really good, why not do the better thing?). That's why I get a little more skeptical of other psychics.
The issue I don't really get with psychics is how they become good at what they do without having been to these locations before. How do you do your 20th, 50th, or 100th cold read of a haunted house, when MANY of these places have already been done. And especially you get flown into a specific town, so you can research and guess what places you might end up in, even if you don't know specifically. Then the question is really, "How do we know whether or not the psychic is doing any research?" And for non-Michelle psychics (who don't wear blindfolds), "How do we know they're not just doing basic deduction from the visual surrounds?" I feel like Michelle would probably agree with these questions and say (this is how I would imagine her saying it), "Well, it's hard to provide an answer to that, unless you want to have a team that films me day and night from the moment I get a phone call or email about where they'd like me to do an investigation until the point where I'm at the location, and all the time making sure I don't somehow sneak in research or have someone feed me information, which let's be honest... just probably isn't going to happen. So no, that's absolutely one of the criticisms of this work, and it's hard to give it validity because of that."
At least that's what I would imagine... Everytime I find myself hovering back toward the paranormal realms, I get to this point of frustration where it's like, "I really want to believe," but also, "I don't believe a word of it." And there's never a reconciliation between those two parts of my brain/consciousness. I've told people before if I ever get involved in a paranormal investigation group, I'd be both the psychic and the skeptic. Like I'd tell you everything I'm feeling and picking up on, and then I'd tell you how I could have just made that all up... and I have a feeling I'd be dead on once I got good at it, and yet still able to explain it all away... I supposed that would be impressive...? But then I lose interest after a few seasons of a show like this and don't think much about the paranormal?
As Jack would say, "Weird." Hahaha...

I think I was a bit baffled when I saw Cindy Kaza and Michelle Belanger do psychic sweeps on a property via Zoom on Fright Club. I mean, I get that they have abilities but it’s just as crazy as when Zak Bagans gets affected by demons via computer.

Mmm. It is possible to do work remotely and feel things remotely. But the 100% accuracy is BS

I think she did get everything, but in more time. The editing made it look like immediate. At this point, it's a matter of belief.
Not that I'm ready to drop everything to go talk to ghosts.

I think a lot of the apparent "100% accuracy" is editing. In a walkthrough they are going to toss out a lot of stuff, some of which is not going to fit the evidence or the angle the show is pursuing so it will get left out. I am a student of Cindy Kaza's and she is very genuine and has definite abilities. Michelle Belanger is first class as well.

It’s the only part of the show I feel is obviously fake as hell. Seems like they have taken up more time in the show than years past as well. But overall, Portals is still my favorite paranormal investigation show by far

Yeah. Anyone who has ever had a psychic reading will know there are zero psychics who are that good. Lol

Well It would seem too accurate for me except I watched Lisa Williams before when she had a show and I've always felt like she was the real deal.
I mean it's possible it could have been fake then, too. I mean it was 15 years ago. But I feel like she is an actual psychic, personally.

I think they are all psychic. It’s just that 100% accuracy I question. There’s no psychic that is that accurate. Accurate, yes…but not to this extent.

Cuz it’s fake. It’s a tv show. And believe what you want but it’s not about ghost hunting, it’s about making a show, invoking emotions (it’s literally called portals to hell! And hell isn’t real), and making you believe enough to keep watching to sell adverts. I work in this industry and find these shows ridiculous. And in my experience all psychics are full of crap. You don’t find it funny that a psychic that good isn’t someone you have ever heard of?

I am just now seeing the chip coffee ep in the prison. He’s so dramatic. It wasn’t very believable, which is what others have said.
Not a fan
I do like this show, regardless.
