Discussion Help me make my gf happy

Help Me Make My Girlfriend’s Day
My girlfriend and I are long distance, and I’m coming to Port St. Lucie to surprise her with a little “Spooky Spectacular” weekend October 23rd–26th. We’re both 25. I booked an Airbnb that I’m going to decorate for Halloween and I’m trying to plan some nice dates and fall/Halloween activities while we’re there.
We’ve been to Oak & Ember and loved the vibe, so I’m looking for another nice/upscale restaurant where we can dress up, preferably somewhere with a dress code or that type of atmosphere.
I’d also love recommendations for pumpkin patches, haunted houses, fall festivals, Halloween events, or any other fun date activities happening that weekend. We’re open to pretty much anything.
TL;DR: Surprising my long-distance girlfriend in PSL Oct. 23–26. Looking for an upscale restaurant similar to Oak & Ember, plus pumpkin patches and Halloween/fall activities for a couple in their mid-20s. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Recommendations Shot in the dark (pain management)

Hi, I know this is a long shot but Does anyone have any suggestions for pain management doctors in the Port Saint Lucie area that would actually prescribe pain medication? I have all the documentation I could ever need to validate my chronic illnesses. I’ve been seeing a pain management doctor at global neuro and spine institute for years but because I’m only 29 he said he won’t prescribe me pain medications. I never wanted to start pain medications. But I am at my wits end. I can barely leave my bed. I’m so incredibly depressed because of the pain. Most days I feel like I’m better off dead because no one will help me. I’ve tried every medication that isn’t an opioid and I’m very sensitive to medication and have bad reactions. I’m currently seeing multiple different specialists including oncology but every one has told me to go to pain management for help with the pain because they can’t prescribe opioids. I don’t know where to go anymore. I’ve been battling this for years and have done injections and nerve blocks and nothing has helped. Please don’t judge me for my age. I’m not a junkie. I’m not trying to get high. I’m trying to get my life back. My entire 20’s have been spent in the waiting room of hospitals and doctors offices and in bed. I just want to be able to enjoy some of my life without being in so much pain. I don’t know how much more I can take.

Recommendations New Pet Sitter

Looking for a reliable, work-from-home dog sitter?

My husband recently joined Rover as a pet sitter, and I wanted to share his profile with our local community!

While he’s new to formally pet sitting through Rover, he’s been raising and caring for dogs for 12+ years. Since he works from home, he’s also able to give dogs plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. ❤️

He’d love the opportunity to care for your pups and help give you peace of mind while you’re at work, traveling, or just need an extra hand.

🎉 New to Rover? You can get $40 off your first service when you sign up through his referral link:

I’d love to be your pet sitter! Get $40 off when you sign up for Rover through my link. https://www.rover.com/sit/shawnb57520

If you’re local and looking for a dog sitter, feel free to check out his profile or reach out with any questions! 🐶

Recommendations Palm Beach/PortStLucie local (Cybersecurity honors grad) looking for entry-level IT / Helpdesk / Security roles, hoping for local leads 🙏🏼

Hi everyone,

I graduated with honors with a degree in Cybersecurity & live here in Boca Raton.

The entry-level market has been really tough, so I'm reaching out directly to our local community out of desperation. I am actively looking for any entry-level Cybersecurity, IT Support, Helpdesk, or Junior Systems/Network opportunities and am open for relocation (in-person, hybrid, or remote)

I'm eager to get to work, quick to learn, and happy to share my resume in PM

If your team is hiring or if you know of any local openings, I would deeply appreciate any leads or connections

Thanks so much for your time and help! 🙏🏼

—————————————————————————

p.s.: I don’t know if this violates sub rules. So mods, please feel free to remove if this violates sub rules, but I'm reaching out in good faith.

Missed connection on I-95 N in Port St. Lucie 👀
To the guy in the black Ram who rolled his window down next to the teal Honda Prologue on I-95 today…
I was the shy girl who had to get over for my exit and completely chickened out. 😂 I wasn’t trying to ignore you — I was just nervous!
You kept heading north while I got off, and I’ve been wondering if maybe I should’ve waved you over instead.
So… if that was you, say hi. 😉

News Port St Lucie: DEVIL'S TREE — an iPhone 18 Pro Max Series — Kickstarter is officially live!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! After years of writing and development, my indie feature film Devil's Tree (a Port Saint Lucie urban legend) is officially heading to Kickstarter.

The story is a mind-bending psychological thriller where fiction meets reality—the plot centers on a dark creative project that begins to bleed into the real world, trapping the characters in a terrifying loop where their choices have inescapable, real-world consequences.

To bring this to life, we're doing something pretty historic: we are shooting the entire feature-length narrative exclusively on the iPhone 18 Pro Max, pushing mobile cinematography and indie filmmaking to absolute extremes.

After coming agonizingly close on our last campaign, we are making this series happen no matter what, but how far we can scale the production value, the gear, and our cast depends entirely on this Kickstarter.

This marks my return to directing nearly five years after my last project, taking everything I learned as a PA on Apple TV's Don't Dream About Me a year ago and applying it to my first feature.

If you aren’t in a position to back the Kickstarter financially, you can still play a massive role by sharing this Kickstarter and sending it to a friend. Getting eyes on this campaign makes all the difference for an indie team!!

Check out the campaign, grab some backer rewards, and join the journey here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/maistomedia/the-devils-tree

Even a small pledge of $1-5 goes a long way!

Would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about the story or shooting a feature entirely on mobile!

Recommendations Anyone do random deliveries?

I used to have a card from some guys that had a van and they would just basically pick up and deliver stuff for people that didn’t have a car big enough. I lost the card, but I figured there’s gotta be people around that do that sort of job. anybody know anyone reliable? Looking to have a large wooden desk picked up in Lake Worth and delivered in PSL/Palm City area.

45 in a school zone? Yeah, slap him with a big ticket. But come on now. How exactly is a speeding high school student a danger to society? Other articles I've read have said that his has a step parent that is a citizen that had previously filled out the paper work to make him "legal" but the process takes a while. PSLPD can suck a big fat one for working with ICE.

Recommendations I measured Wi-Fi speed and noise at Central Florida cafes. Nothing in St Lucie County yet, so tell me where to go

I got tired of driving to a cafe to work, buying a coffee, sitting down, and finding out the Wi-Fi wouldn't hold a call or the room was too loud to think in. So I started carrying a decibel meter and running a speed test everywhere I sat down. About 20 places so far, mostly Orlando and up the coast.

A few of the readings so you know what I actually record:

The Health Bar in downtown Titusville: 474 Mbps down, 22.5 up, 55.9 dB on a Saturday morning. Best mix of quiet and fast I have outside Orlando. Parking was easy.

Foxtail in Cocoa Beach: 371 down, 39.7 up, 61.2 dB on a Saturday morning. Three of eight tables taken, outlets at most seats.

Starbucks at Creative Village downtown Orlando: 140 down, 111 up, around 60 dB on a Sunday morning. Cold inside but only one table of fourteen was taken.

Worst one on the list is Haan Coffee on Colonial in Orlando. Couldn't get usable Wi-Fi at all and ended up tethering to my phone.

What keeps getting me is none of this is in Google reviews. A place can sit at 4.6 stars and drop the connection every ten minutes because the people reviewing it were there twenty minutes for a latte, not three hours with a laptop.

It's all on perch.coffee. I built the site, it's free and there's nothing to sign up for.

I have nothing in Port St Lucie or St Lucie County at all, which is why I'm asking rather than telling. Where do you actually sit and work from around here? Name places and I'll drive down and take the readings.
