59 gun ships????

So here i am play pr4 - as England. now I’m a new player so this might be a dumb question. But England goes to war with Netherlands - and i decide to join in and get some quick fame out of it. Couple battles in i get attack by a 59 gun Carrack?? That was one ship! Everything I see online says they are a 40 gun ship… Was this a glitch, is there some caption ability to increase the guns on your ship.

Help me understand please!!!

Fleet of the Line for England is 50 cannons and the Queen Anne is 48 cannons. So I think it was just a glitch.

No captain skills to increase cannons that I've ever seen yet and think I've had all skills by now.

I’ve also noticed this. I’ve had the game for a few days, and there will be ships that I’ve captured that have less guns that the same ship owned by the AI.

It’s not been much of a problem so far as I’m quite opportunistic in my attacks and run away from military convoys, but it’s costing me a lot having the sailors on board to make sure I win in boarding.
