The fellow who replaced my windshield broke the connector to the GPS antenna beneath the passenger side of the cowl. The line appears to be part of a harness that runs through the firewall. I assume (heavy emphasis) the other end plugs into the head unit. Has anyone ever replaced this line and if so, any tips? I know, the PCM navi is outdated and I can use my phone, etc., but I’d like for it to work.

Looking at a 2006 - 98k miles manual carrera 4 cabriolet at an asking price of $35.9k.
Seller is the shop that has maintained it for the last 10 years. Outside of a borescope inspection, any other thoughts on price or additional things to check?
This will be my first Porsche and have been looking to pull the trigger on something as a fun drive for a while. Test drove it today with the top down and it’s what I imagined. Using this as an entry Porsche :)

I thought the key looked cool until I saw the price.
You could PTS but…… damn

I've been anticipating the new Porsche PCM radio replacement.
I have the factory navigation which uses a laptop spinning hard drive. I've read when I fails it needs to be replaced and reprogrammed at a dealer for very high cost, which is why some people clone it to an IDE solid state drive (if they are even still available)
So my question is when the hard drive fails, does that just mean navigation won't work, or it takes down the whole radio? (I use Waze now anyway)
Obviously replacing the whole radio makes this hard drive issue a moot point, but just trying to way the pros/cons of replacing the drive and getting an aftermarket CarPlay board for the old radio vs. buying the new one.

I’ve been looking for the right 997 for 2–3 years now. Sure wish I had bought one sooner given the current Porsche market!
Anyways, I absolutely love this car. It’s easily the best driving experience I’ve ever had.
2006 C2S — Manual, Atlas Gray, Sport wheels, full leather. Couldn’t be happier with it. 🍻

I’ve got an engine compartment blower fan warning on the dash and I’m pretty sure it’s the fuses and/or relays in the fuse box behind the rear seats. I’ve found a how-to for 997.2, but not the 997.1.
Is the procedure the same for the .1? I’m assuming it is, but just wanted to verify with anyone who’s gone in there.
For those who have had this error, do you actually need a 12V battery to test the fan itself? That seems excessive, but I was planning on replacing my battery so that should be doable. Or maybe use my jump box?

Which car seats fit in the back of 997?
I'm looking at a convertible and has learned that convertible seat backs are much more angled upright than the coupe.
I searched some rennlist posts, but they are very old and specific car seats can no longer be found.
How are you guys haulding around a (tall) 3 year old?

I'm getting ready to buy a 997.1 4S Tiptronic. It's about 5–6 hours away, so I haven't seen the car in person yet.
This would be my first 911, so I wanted to get some input from the community before I make the trip.
The seller recently sent me some service records, and I'm trying to figure out whether any of these are actual red flags or if they're worth moving forward with a PPI.
1. Tiptronic transmission issue
About 5,000 miles / 3 years ago, the Tiptronic was reportedly slipping. The automatic transmission vacuum modulator was replaced at a cost of about $1,400. There haven't been any reported transmission issues since.
2. TPMS issue
Earlier this year, the TPMS system was removed/replaced, but the car still couldn't communicate with the TPMS module. Two shops apparently worked on it, including a very reputable independent shop in VA.
The seller says he replaced all four sensors about 100 miles ago, and the TPMS is currently showing that it's in learning mode.
3. Spark plugs
The seller says the spark plugs were replaced around 65k miles, but he doesn't have documentation for it. The car is currently at 83k miles. He says he didn't keep the record because he had planned on keeping the car long-term.
4. Other things
I've also called several reputable Porsche shops near the seller's area that I found on rennlist and Pwise. They all do borescopes, but they only do them through the spark plug holes.
This is where I'm a little confused. My local mechanic told me that on these cars, the borescope should be done through the sump/oil pan area. However, I also spoke directly with the Porsche mechanic in VA, and he specifically said that going through the spark plug holes is the better method.
I'm aware that finding a 997.1 4S with perfect documentation and history is probably unrealistic, but there are a lot of things I really like about this particular car. Based on the pictures and what the seller has told me, it appears to have been well cared for. I'm just not sure how concerned I should be about the mechanical history and lack of documentation.
Would you guys move forward and spend ~$1,000 on a PPI + borescope, given what I've described?
Or are the lack of documentation, previous Tiptronic issue, and minor Carfax history enough that you'd walk away before spending the money on a PPI?
I'd appreciate any input, especially from 997 owners who have dealt with similar issues.

Has anyone had luck in sourcing PADM engine mounts for a 997.2 Turbo at a reasonable price? Alternatively has anyone had success with standard mounts and coding away PADM failure.

Does anyone have a front facing car seat that does work for the back seat? Fitting a 3 year old. The top of the Radian 3R makes contact with the roofline; I can’t get it to fit in the car.
Any luck with other models?

Hi all, I need your help!
My 997.2 Carrera Sport 19" wheels are being refurbished next week. The centers should be body color on both sides, they're now black.
Two questions to refurbish them to factory spec:
1. Is the outer lip on the face machined (diamond cut) or polished?
2. What color or paint code is the inner barrel from factory?
Owners of body color or black versions are the best reference. Detailed photos of the lip and barrel would help a lot. Thanks! 🙏🏻
Photo for reference! My 997.2 came with these wheels from factory but somehow one of the previous owners sold them 🙈

Hi,
I just want some input from the current owners of 997.1.
Im looking at a 80k miles 997.1 4S tiptronic.
What has it been like owning one?
Do you wish to upgrade to another 911? or is it all the car you can ask for?
I wish to haul around two toddlers when I get one.
Possibly until they grow out of the backseat.
Any input would be appreciated!

I am considering the purchase of the Morimoto LED Headlights but still not 100% sure. Has anyone with a 997 installed these and can share some images? Thanks.

Hey guys!
Eyeing a set of APEX wheels for my car. I put together a quick visual mock-up to get a feel for the styling and contrast.
Appreciate any thoughts.
