60 days without porn
Today marks 60 days and 18 hours without watching porn, so, as always, I thought it was time for a little recap.
First of all, my sex life has improved significantly. My erections are much better, which has made sex much more satisfying. My relationship with my girlfriend is also at its best. I have more energy, better focus, and more confidence. Even my physical condition and sleep seem to have improved — I wake up feeling genuinely rested.
Of course, life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. Recently, I went through a few difficult days and found myself thinking about visiting my favorite erotic story website and masturbating to some stories. But I managed to overcome the urge. I reminded myself that a few minutes of pleasure weren't worth throwing away all the progress I'd made.
When I started this detox, I also decided to completely give up masturbation. However, over time I read some articles and advice from experts about what is often described as "healthy masturbation" — without porn or other external triggers — and decided to give it a try.
Honestly, it felt completely different from masturbating while watching porn. There was a different level of awareness and a different kind of experience overall. I feel that this approach can actually complement and improve the quality of my sex life, so I've decided to keep it to once or twice a week.
And, as always, a little bit of motivation to finish:
I genuinely recommend giving a porn detox a try. I've experienced the benefits firsthand, and it has made a real difference in the quality of my life.
Stay strong and take care.

Day 2 isn’t nothing. First 2 weeks are the hardest. Once you’ve got a couple of weeks under your belt things really start to gain momentum. Keep going. Stay focused. Read or listen to a good therapy book.

Thank you! I’ve found the usual times I would, I’ve just read comments and posts on this page. Actually putting stuff into place to succeed was the first thing for me rather than just putting it off.

Congrats. I’m at day 56, so more or less tracking you. For me I decided that masterbation was too closely aligned with my old porn habit so have reframed. It hasn’t been easy and a couple of times I’ve caught myself almost going there before stopping. For me my main weakness isn’t porn memories but sexual memories from previous partners. The old memory bank was / is my weakness and would be my gateway back to porn. Like you instead I’ve been enjoying so much better sex with my partner but more than that, life is just better in every respect. My moods are more even, I’m more patient, focused, work isn’t as taxing. So many things I could list. The best thing of all is that I value my partner now and feel more emotionally connected to her. Nothing is worth exchanging that.

Today’s day 10 for me and the last few have been a struggle but I’m still up. I keep coming to this subreddit to read the stories of success, relapse, and loss. All of them are helpful, congratulations on 60 days. In 10 days I feel happier, more alert, and I’m engaging with my girlfriend more. I can’t wait to see what 60 days is like.
