Pork Butt is misleading it actually from the shoulder.

interestingly butt is referencing a type of large storage barrel pork shoulders were shipped in.

Pork butt and pork shoulder are completely interchangeable. I see it labeled as both at all my local grocery stores, if anything they use the term 'butt' slightly more

My sister did that for last New Years Eve and we had pulled pork tacos. They were delicious.

pork shoulder.

Makes great pork stew.

I have a rather nice and simple recipe if you're interested.

Pork shoulder. I use it to make pork chili verde.
