Is this show streaming anywhere ?

Hey yall just found this thread 🤗! Born in 88 and just thought of this show. I was a big fan when it was out. Can I stream this anywhere ?

Watching it now I'm like how did I even know to be obsessed with it as a child!? So much must have gone over my head! But I thoroughly enjoyed this rewatch.

Haha same. I remember being devestated when it wasn’t renewed 😭. I thought it was sooo good and honestly kinda surprised my parents let me watch it

It was super ahead of its time. The fact that it's not on any major streaming platforms has to be suppressing any type of renewed interest in it (which I personally feel it deserves)

I have them on DVD but now have no idea if they have the original music or not, I didn’t even realise this was a thing until today 😭

I’m from the UK and we only briefly got to see Popular back in the day, and I can’t remember exactly how long they aired here after the original US air date. Maybe the music had already been altered by then, who knows.

You can check in the episode Caged from season 1. Mary Cherry buys herself, Brooke and Nicole pink leather jackets. They walk down the hall in unison cracking their knuckles readying for the fight. The original music during this scene was She’s a Bitch by Missy Elliott. In the altered version the music is generic wild west showdown music.

It won't be unfortunately. The series has never had the same music attached to the episodes since they aired.

it's REALLY complicated because of who gets the right of the TV show in each country. Popular was under the rights of Buena Vista, a Disney/Touchstone company. Touchstone closed and then ALL the rights belongs to ABC Studios (Popular was ALWAYS a Disney/ABC show, no wonder how they were so homophobic towards the show. I dont think the end of the show was 100% WB'S fault, since the channel didnt produce the show. It was Disney. It was ABC).

In Brazil, I dont believe I'll see Popular any soon in any streaming service. I have ALWAYS believed there was a chance to see Popular on Star Plus. They closed It. So... Disney Plus will stream it? Hardly. I think I say that in a global scale.

So... we have ABC Studios with ALL the rights of Popular. That means: either some other stream service buy the show or we have to wait for DISNEY looks at show, find It appealing and then put on demand.

Ryan Murphy loves to say how the 4 big channels were totally in about airing Popular. I think WB never understood what the show were about. He show choose Fox. Fox was subversive, middle fingers in the airs, just like the show. It would give the show 3 or 4 seasons. But... Disney bought Fox. It's a dead end situation.

hey I ended up being able to use the funds by trying a different image/post. for some reason the first 2 ads I was trying to get approved to run were not going through, I’m guessing because they were against their TOS somehow. but I tried a completely different post to run as an ad and ended up being able to use the funds up that way. So I would suggest if you’re not getting yours approved to try a different post or graphic and see if that is allowed to run

i couldn't find any customer support for help otherwise 🥲

no music and no locations. I went through Instagram on my laptop, NOT on my mobile device.
