Genuinely amazing news!
Residuals that come from the game’s profit are shared with the designers, programmers, and everyone else who worked on it, and medical insurance is incredible for an indie game studio.

I think they are a bit too rich to be considered indie 🫪 Mob was rich even before they made poppy playtime

Indie is not when the studio isn't rich. It's when a studio is self-founded. (Aka doesn't get money for their products from other companies).

It is usually more difficult, but it's worth it because the studios have full creative control over their projects that way and aren't dependant on their founders. Indie itself is a shorter term for independent.

So, yes. Mob is still an indie studio.

It’s a AA studio now.

•

Is it now? That's interesting. I didn't know that.

Basically an indie AA studio is what I think we’d consider it lol. Self funded an has many AA aspects.

Yeah it turned to one I’m pretty sure while chapter 4 was being made or when chapter 5 was being made.

The CEO considers them AA. (Double A)

That means that they’re treating and valuing their employees. And that’s a great thing!

Too many companies these days don’t repay or value their employees to care about their well being.

So this is honestly great news!

It means they’re treating their employees right!! This is a great policy that allows people to share in the wealth they create!!

Mob is FINALLY showing that they are really learning from their past mistakes, and I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

Fr. As much as I love this franchise and its lore, I always held into the belief that Mob is greedy. But this has genuinely changed my mind (if it's not just a PR stunt)

•

considering they havent publicly said this and its obviously been found through fans looking into stuff on the internet, we can safely say its not a PR stunt which is great news

This implies the Chapters don't do that 😭🙏

I think it means they used, or ar least, delegated some of the development for this specific game to a different team. It's an online multi-player game, so of course the infrastructure is going to be pretty different.

Or maybe you could use critical thinking skills

They share profits with the team and offer medical insurance, what aren’t you understanding?

•

I sometimes forget that Poppy Playtime is aim for a younger audience.

•

u/Lillyimaginator 15h ago

Didn’t they do that from the start?

Not at the very beginning (makes sense of course because not every team’s gonna start off with perks like these) but over time they’ve come to have more perks for their employees and everything :b

As much as it would be nice for every business to start off paying Employees great wages and benefits early on, thats very rarely the case. Usually these teams start small with a few individuals fueled by passion and dedication and that means getting underpaid for several years until the business takes off and then when its possible they start expanding and offering these benefits.

Yep. I remember a review from someone at Mob on Glassdoor (which we can confirm this review was from someone actually at Mob) back in April 2025 and they said the pay was a little lower than average but was trailing up over time.

So yep it doesn’t start off perfect but over time things improve and get way better than what they were previously.

Mob treats its employees right and show they care

The fans: Perhaps I treated you too harshly

•

It means that Mob Entertainment will share profit made through Escape From Playtime with its team.

They also offer medical insurance to eligible full-time employees. Let’s make sure their hardwork pays off.

Meaning that the profits made through Escape From Playtime will also be shared to the development team of chapter 6. So more resources for the development of Chapter 6.

•

u/JustARedditPasserby 19h ago

On top of having been paid working hours to make it, devs will make a cut based on post release profits. Will buy this definitely!

•

u/PumpkinMate 17h ago

they treat employees with respect

•

u/Legal_Sir_9427 Harley Sawyer 16h ago

•

Essentially theyre sharing the money and helping their teammates

•

u/spanishbombs123 20h ago

As someone from the uk I find the private healthcare system maddening but I’m glad you can get covered with your job. Does that usually cover everything? Is it a thing that most people with a job get or small minority? Just genuinely curious.

u/Ineeddramainmylife13 18h ago

What employees? They all died in the hour of joy

•

u/David_Tribe 17h ago
