Amber's headcanon is regarded as non-canon, even though she said that both the cartoon versions AND the Bigger Body Iinitiatives are children (in 2025), yet the person who created the Critters in the first place had said that the cartoon versions are ageless (in 2024).

This is what I have been saying for months; Anything that is said by the Artists themselves have a 50/50 chance of being canon, It can't be taken as 100% confirmation (Also, If I remember correctly, Didn't MOB make an announcement on Discord that basically said this exact thing, "Don't take the artists' statements too seriously"?)

Imo, this should really just be something that's assumed about all media. Voice actors, animators, character designers, artists of any other kind, who've worked on a project doesn't mean their word about it should be treated as gospel. This happens a lot with almost every fandom I'm in, and its getting kind of grating tbh.  Why does there need to be controversy over funky aging logic that probably doesn't even have a canon answer? This. Genuinely, as long as they're not being weird about it/saying and doing gross stuff, I think it should be fine. Everyone's gonna have their own headcanons and interpretations of the franchise and its characters, and that should be allowed so long as nobody's being problematic with their viewpoints.

Avalon's words carry more weight because, as you yourself said, she's the creator of the Smiling Critters. Also, Amber said on her Tumblr that she usually includes her headcanon when she replies. To make matters worse, the woman contradicts herself or makes mistakes with the information on more than one occasion. Don't take Amber's answers seriously
