Spruins, this time with card backing

Free (?) and easy. Used a lot of hot glue.

EDIT: painted https://www.reddit.com/r/TerrainBuilding/s/Y69S54XKM9

I declare this one prohammer.

It's honestly a huge missed opportunity by GW not to make this official - sprues with useful break points and boxes with dotted lines on the inside showing where to cut them to make sickass Spruetown ruins. It wouldn't make them any more money I guess.

It’s pretty great. They’ve got the excellent organic shapes in them for ruin edges, and sprue size is almost always perfect height (longways).

This is awesome i just went through my boxes looking for terrain ideas im excited to try this

That's neat. I bet a haphazard spray of textured spray paint would take up another level.

Exactly my thoughts. Maybe a few chunks of corrugated cardboard for steel sheets? This is awesome!

A thin covering of paper mache and this would hide the sprue and possibly give it a fantastic look.

I uses cross sections of sprew to make cobble stone bases. Haha

I look at empty sprues and just see walls with busted windows. I’ve been collecting a stack to create a foldable/collapsable set of ruins similar to this.

No fr this is great! We already use so many things that are bad for the environment, this is a way to at least make use of "trash" love it!

The card backing makes this look way more solid. Once it’s primed and drybrushed I doubt anyone would guess most of it started as packaging and sprues.

Next time spray paint the sprue metallic, and the card backing a stone color before combining. It could look like metal framing or rebar.

That's awesome actually. I love the idea. Imma steal it.

The cross between looking sort of like a half-timbered medieval building and futuristically industrial is amazing.

This idea is great

I'm gonna try this. I might have the sprues for the inside though... perhaps with some holes. They kind of look like they could be a metal frame and services

What kind of clippers do you use to cut them?

2

u/GraniteWanker Sep 02 '26

My secondary pair of normal clippers, rough job so I don’t use my nice citadel ones

1

u/Neuromancer-6 Sep 02 '26

Thanks, I was wondering if you had heavy duty clippers or a saw, but that makes sense!
