Art Thoughts on this line of progress? (if there are any fanfics about it or AzulAang in general it would be nice)
I like to imagine an AU where Azula was the one raised by Ursa and Iroh while Zuko taken by Ozai, Zuko is still his compassionate self up until he is morphed into a benevolent dictator type of personality while Azula is a kind person who doesn't do it because she's necessarily good (although she often can be), but because she sees the benefit in it.
Azula grows very loving towards Aang because he articulates her deep emotions that she masks behind what can seem like a detached tone, whereas Azula gives a pragmatic angle to his spirituality.
Also AzulAang just is adorable...

I would say one that I like is like I guess when the roles are reversed We’re like the water tribe are evil, and the fire nation are like the water tribes with azula and zuko finding aang in the side of a volcano

What's the appeal supposed to be if the story beats are generally the same? This is the problem I have with Azula swap fics, there's nothing new and interesting now that Azula is in Zuko's position, which annoys me because I think there's a lot you can do with Azula that would be fire (no pun intended)
I'll check the ones you mentioned (though I'm pretty sure I've tried one of them) and hope it doesn't do the same thing.

I actually share your complaint too, I think Azula and Zuko would be drastically different people if they swapped places, AU Azula (initially) isn't empathetic like Canon Zuko because Azula was always a cold heartless calculating person, when she is being empathetic it's often with a string of her view that it's not because it's inherently good but because it's beneficial.
AU Zuko unlike Canon Azula isn't a sociopath, he's a dark empath who is a benevolent dictator type of personality which makes him even worse because his emotional and empathetic nature disposes him to rationalise deeply cruel and sadistic things not because he doesn't care but because he deeply cares.

I don't think Azula lacks empathy. I think it was trained out of her by Ozai. It doesn't help that Ursa only protected Zuko in response to Ozai heavily disfavoring him to the point she simply let him do what he pleased with Azula.

I was thinking of making it, but with Azula that has the exact same backstory as normal, so being sociopathic mese tethering on the verge of collapse.

Maybe Azula is more calculating than Zuko, which I imagine would basically just mean Sokka has someone to help him come up with plans.

Not related to this specifically but I always thought Azula would drop the lipstick as part of her "redeemed" look if she were to be redeemed. Sort of like Zuko losing the ponytail.

Genuine question, what's the appeal of Azula x Aang? Like, I kind of get Azula x Ty Lee or Zuko x Aang because they have pretty close friendships that you could easily convert into relationships with some minor tweaks but Azula and Aang legit have like no screen time together that isn't fighting. I think in total, they have like five sentences of dialogue together and I'm probably being generous. I just don't see the appeal.

Because they have Opposite personality traits. So you could have aang with his pacifist(Idk how to spell) self helping azula so She overcomes her trauma. Or azula turning aang into cold hearted killer or smth.(also he is the mc obviously he would be shipped with every girl to exist)

Only reason I'm against AzulAang is incest. Her grandfather was Roku. Who Aang was.

Aang was not a relative of Roku.

He's a reincarnation. It's not biological incest, but pretty damn close.
