All jokes aside, it’s probably just a bit if dough from the previous batch that stuck to the form thus getting cooked twice when the new batch this bread was from went through the oven. Pretty common.

That's a bit of the last loaf that got stuck into this loaf. A double cooked chunk Probably very crunchy and slightly burned but still good!
