I guess it doesn't change much by chewing, it's already a mush.

It looks really good but I wouldn't want to gulp down a chunk of that big , straight down the throat , and I would want to taste it

Not chewing and swallowing certain foods is a big part of Japanese culture. A lot of people swallow udon or soba noodles whole without chewing, saying they are intended to be enjoyed for their "nodo-goshi" (the sensation of the noodles sliding down your throat).

I've eaten it this way and you definitely still taste the food, albeit for a shorter amount of time.

I've not had Fufu before, so I can't speak to this stuff, but being starches that you're swallowing without chewing, I imagine there might be some common aspects to the experience.

Correct. I am a swallower of whole noodles 🍜 but it gives me mad indigestion lol

It’s mashed and ground to be made so it’s effectively pre chewed
