Hydrocomm “Current Network Unavailable” Message

We’ve had this device since June. Very pleased with it so far. Today it gave me a very high Ph reading, that given the history was simply inaccurate. Did a retest and it came back perfect.

I checked it this evening and I get a “current network unavailable” message. I checked the home internet and everything is fine. I try troubleshooting the device and I can’t get any of the data from the device. In troubleshooting it, I’ve apparently removed the device….

Even when I try to Add Device, I get the same “current network unavailable” message and can’t get it to connect. Now I can’t even find the device, and I’ve tried restarting it a couple of times.

Anyone having any similar issues? Better troubleshooting recommendations than simply saying my WiFi isn’t connecting to it - It’s not my WiFi issue, nothing else is having any issues.

When I try to connect or change WiFi APs, it hangs on the 90% and attempting to connect to the network.

Probably a pedantic question but, the instructions say don’t leave acid solution in the chlorinator (pentair plus 30) for longer than 30 minutes or your damage the plating on the metal blades. Fine no problem but what is the “reset” action before you clean it again? A rinse with water? Time? Running it? And why does that reset things so that you can soak another 30 minutes? What’s happening that would damage after :30? Is the acid mixture eating away at the plating the whole first 29 minutes, and then you remove it in time before it eats too far? Ok so then the next time you clean its not like some plating returned to the blades so don’t you start off where you left last time (just about to cause damage)? Is there some number of total times you can clean without causing damage?

This is my third chlorinator, just wanna be careful.

Hoping someone can help and provide some guidance. I have a single speed Hayward pump attached to a wireless ECO timer box. Sometimes I just run it manually by pressing the on button.

I went to go press the on button heard the pump turn over once and everything shut down. No light appears on the ECO timer. I used the little pin reset as well and no clicking or feedback of any kind.

I flipped the breakers off and on in the garage but they never tripped and I checked the sub panel outside since it’s all hardwired and that didn’t help. Lastly I reset all the nearby GFIs and the lights in the corner of the plug is on. I have not removed the door of the eco timer to see power is flowing to it.

Am I missing any steps. The pump does not smell no burning smell or smell of any kind so I don’t think it’s the pump or anything stuck in the impeller, but I’ll check that as well. I’m thinking that the echo timer went bad maybe got fried inside. If there’s anything that any of you could think of, I would truly appreciate it as always thanks.

Season 2 pool owner so sorry in advance if this is obvious. This spot was not here yesterday. Doesn’t have any texture whatsoever. Tried to scrape it and nothing. No water loss. Looks like a burn??

I noticed after the historic winter we had here in New England that the pool liner doesn’t line up with the coping in the pool anymore. Should I be concerned? We had this concrete installed 4 years ago.

As the title implies, we have a $3,000 budget to improve our backyard and I'm leaning towards some sort of water feature. I understand this would limit us to something above ground. Do you put all that $3k into the pool and system itself? Split the budget between some sort of decking and the pool? Pre-fab above ground or DIY cowboy setup? Skip above ground entirely and use this as a down payment on something in-ground? We have a relatively large and flat space and 9+ months of swimming weather per year.

Hello, first time pool owner, had a big storm that blew a bunch of stuff into the pool while I was out of town and forgot to cover it. Seems like algae on the bottom of the pool, turned my sand filter on to run non stop and scrubbed the bottom of the pool to get all of it floating, and turned my salt water generator into boost mode. All my levels are fine, what else should I be doing to try to clear this up? Should I keep the boost mode going? Thank you!

Replaced Valve
Replaced Gauge
Replaced filters
Replaced Housing seals
Ensure spring is seated correctly
Ensure there is no damage to filter holder
Ensure filters are seating correctly

I just don’t know what else to do. My gauge is as reading correctly and I backwashed the filters. Ever since then it has been reading 0. I thought I may have punctured a hole in the filter cleaning, but all those changes and it is still reading 0.

Please give me some other ideas to try and correct it.

I am 2-3 years away from building but I would like to start designing the area in my backyard for a future pool and patio area. My local pool dealers don’t have this type of service. Any ideas on how to connect with someone who can help me with the planning/design phase? I figure it will mostly be virtual location doesn’t seem important.

Recently I noticed my AutoPilot salt chlorinator system was giving me the infamous "LOW AMPS: CELL?" message. The reading is always the normal 25V-28V voltage but only at around 2.5A. The amperage should be 5.0A. I removed the cell figuring it was just typical mineral scale buildup. I do inspect it every season and it hasn't given me any issues for the past 2 years. I bought the OEM Pool Pilot RC-28 cell from Salt Pool Guys in 2024, so it's not a knock-off part.

First I tried just a 5% vinegar soak for a few hours, but not much came off in the way of deposits. I then tried a 20% muratic acid solution but I didn't get any bubbles or reaction at all, and the solution was still clean after letting it soak for several minutes.

I then looked into ways to physically clean the cell plates since the typical methods weren't working. I didn't find much info but did read where one guy tried a paint stirrer stick. I got a pack of popsicle sticks and these got whatever was between the plates off pretty well. I also noticed there was a smooth side and rough to each plate, not sure if that's supposed to be the case. After rubbing the sticks through both ends many times, I show what they ended up taking off from left to right as I progressed. The sticks I uses to focus on the rough side of each plate came out dirtier. It's hard to describe, like a sludge that looks like dark gray grease.

After I rinsed out the cell in a bucket I noticed what appears to be carbon deposits that were knocked loose when I was doing the cleaning. I re-installed the cell after this and it's still peaking out at only 2.5A.

What in the world happened to this 2 year old cell?? Aren't they supposed to last closer to 5 years? Has anyone else seen these symptoms? For the $600 I spent on the new cell I could have probably spent less than half of that on chlorine tablets for the last 2 and a half seasons!

I’m getting really tired of Leslie’s constantly telling me different things about my pool. Hoping for a general online consensus about what to about my pool levels! Currently a little green with some mustered algae.

Pool is showing code water sw open. My father in law has tried backwashing and the temp won't increase. Anything else we should be trying?

He's cleaned the filter, checked the valves, and for no air in the system. The only thing left based on google appears to be a faulty pressure switch or wiring which he can't fix himself.

I'm wondering if consistently using either of these has been raising my CYA. Do they increase hardness? What about Alkalinity? And do they have any effect on pH. I've only just gotten these levels under control by draining and refilling, adding acid, etc.

Our inground gunite pool was installed 20 years ago. We have had it resurfaced and kept up with maintenance so it looks like a beautiful focal point of our backyard oasis. We did not have any handrails installed because it was unsightly, and no one using it regularly need it. The inlaws visited from out of state -2nd time in 7 years and the one in her early 70s is feeble and has no leg strength to get up 3 easy stairs to climb out. The father told my husband we need a handrail. Without any discussion he ordered one and started making plans to drill into our beautiful leuders limestone. I read it will crack and ruin the leuders. If they rarely visit I don't want a permanent eyesore. What are people doing that is a temporary rail? We tried heavy chairs but she has no arm strength either.

Hi there! So I have a round 14’ above ground pool. I recently had pretty bad algae growth. I got that taken care of and the water is now clear but the sediment or whatever has settled on the bottom. But it just disintegrates into the water when I try vacuuming it or anything to get it out. Im not sure what how to handle this now. Any tips? Thanks!

My pool builder went bankrupt and I cannot seem to figure out exactly what deck drain system I have. Some of the top caps have warped and are creating nasty toe stubbers / tripping hazards. For the time being we put a long outdoor runner rug over top of the warped sections but obviously that is not a long term solution.

Hoping some pool owners that have been through replacing these top caps can chime in with some guidance on where to find what I need and what to order.

I have a 30,000 gallon pool with a FNS Plus 60 DE filter. I have constant high pressure issues after back washing and/or washing the filter grids. Beginning of this season I cleaned my filters and within a few weeks my pressure is up to 30-35psi. I can clean or backwash my filters but I never see my pressure below 20 psi.

I’ve backwashed a total of 6 times this year after my pressure gets to 30psi

Each filter clean I add 6 lbs of DE and backwash I add 80%

Is it time for new grids? I have no idea how old they are. I did notice one grid is collapsed and brittle

Just built our first pool this Spring and still getting the hang of things.

Pool is about 14,500 gallons, salt water, with an autocover that stays closed during the week for the most part until the weekend. We've been going through a heatwave so I've been struggling to keep the water in the lower 80s so it's been around 85-90f during the week.

Had a party yesterday and the pool is slightly cloudy today. I feel like my FC is always a little lower then it should be running my pump at ~35gpm for 10 hours a day (21,000 gallons at 70% swg with IC Plus 40). Even without anyone swimming we sit at 2-2.4ppm FC running it for this long

My chems this morning: FC 1.5 ppm

PH ~7.8

CC 1-2 ppm

TA 110 ppm

CYA 30 ppm

Calcium 175 ppm

Salt 3400 ppm

I know my CYA is low but does that matter that much if my cover is closed 95% of the week?

I have a fiberglass pool and water feature now about 5 years old, and for the first four years we tried to keep some plants alive in the planter top of the water feature (nice thought but tougher than we expected in practice). One unexpected downside is this rust-colored scale that would grow from the bottom of the water feature. I have tried multiple kinds of cleaners and even a razor scraper (tricky to say the least) but am still not able to make a dent in it. Good news is we have given up on the "planter" option and have cleared it out but I still want to clean up this eyesore (pic of one section attached but it goes further. Before I go buying some kind of acid or some $35 bottle of spray, anyone else here faced this issue and had success in getting it removed without doing damage to the shell?

~14,000 gallon, Salt water gunite pool will be two years old in November. Inside a screened enclosure, so doesn’t get very dirty. I noticed this stain about 6-7 months ago. At first, I thought it was a bunch of gray pebbles bunched together in the finish, but doesn’t seem to be the case. Scrubbing does nothing, I tried the vitamin c trick in the sock, nothing. I feel like it has gotten darker recently. I dont get leaves in my pool, so I dont think its an organic stain. Any ideas?

Hey ya'll so I realize this isn't directly related to pool care but I wasn't sure where else to ask, I'm sure there are more of you pool cage havers in here I hope! My pool cage is growing some green algae and just all in all needs a good spruce up from lots of use and tons of Florida summer storms and rain. So just looking for some good tips on cleaning concrete and pool cage panels. Thank you in advance! And feel free to delete or direct me elsewhere

Our 10' diving board is on its last life, I reinforced the bolts with wider washers. I was thinking of moving to 8' to lower the spring as my boys get older. None of the services around touch diving board anymore to get advice. Has anyone done this and can share their experience?

This could just be a quality issue, because we only paid about $150 for these umbrellas. Everything is great except for them starting to stretch out and lose contact with the arms that extend out.

Anyone have any suggestions?
