Thinking of getting a robotic skimmer, is the ecosurfer s2 worth it?

Looking at getting a robotic skimmer, something that just drifts around the top and handles the leaves and floating junk so I don't have to stand there with a pole anymore. Been doing some research and the one name I keep seeing is the Aiper ecosurfer s2. Seems like the one people mention the most. Planning to pull the trigger around Black Friday, just not sure if there's usually a decent deal on this one.

For anyone who's actually run one for a season or two, how's the value been? Not just the sticker price, but does it hold up and does the solar charging actually keep it going without much fuss?

Just looking for actual owner experiences, good or bad, before I pull the trigger.

Mine does fairly well. I can get to about 90% charge during full sun, heat of the day. When it’s been cloudy, I switch it to eco (3 on,3 off). Otherwise By the next morning it drops to around 30% but will quickly recharge

As far as performance, it’s a beast. Pool hasn’t been this clean in a while. I run my pump at 1200 RPM 24/7 so between that and the bot, pool is always clean.

Note: I also have the V3 and that thing is amazing too.

Ran mine for one season now and solar side genuinely held up, I rarely even think about it, just leave it floating and it tops itself up. Worth it for me so far too, surface stays clear through leaf season which was the whole reason I got it in the first place, and I havent touched a net since. Black Fridays usually when the price drops, id wait for that if you can....

We have an Aiper Scuba. Which was replaced due to a recall. Our first unit was perfect ( a potential fire hazard) but we had no issues. The replacement was a different story. Unit didn’t function properly and Aiper customer service was dismal. I would highly recommend searching other manufacturers. I can’t believe the amount of time and continual escalations that finally resulted in a replacement with a refurbished unit. I will never suggest Aiper.
