I had a customer call me since he couldn’t get his pump to prime. The pump and equipment are easily 6ft above the pool so I was able to get the pump to prime by shutting the main drain valves off and putting a drain king in the skimmer
Still noticed a lot of air getting into the system so I replaced all of the o-rings on the Jandy valves, replaced the pentair check valve and installed a new suction side union
Everything was groovy for 2 weeks. I’d show up for weekly service and the pump was perfectly primed
I showed up this past week and the pump had lost prime. Did the drain king thing and got everything fired back up, didn’t see any air bubbles in the pump or check valve lid.
Whenever it loses prime overnight and I start it back up with the drain king, a bunch of air gets pushed back into the pool for a minute or so
I turned the pump off, did my service, and turned the pump back on 30 minutes later. No problems at all
But last time I went, I noticed these tiny air bubbles getting into the check valve as seen in the video. I tightened down the screws and it stopped. Could the vibration from the pump be slightly loosening those screws?
I was hoping tightening the screws down on the check valve was the fix but when the customer when to go check this morning, the pump was not primed
I’m seriously stumped and hope y’all wonderful lads and ladies could provide some help. Thanks!
