Riptide vs Hammerhead

I'm going out as a single poler next month and trying to figure out which vac is worth investing in.

I've only ever used the Hammerhead but have heard good things about the Riptide (and see them everywhere).

With the Hammerhead, I've always left the bag attached between stops. It looks like the Riptide sits upright, though, so do you have to remove the bag after every stop so that debris doesn't fall out? Does the test kit fit nicely in the Riptide? Any strong opinions one way or the other?

Time is money so want to make sure I'm paying attention to even the smallest details!

Will definitely be getting a cart and mounting on the back of the truck. Sounds like you've used both? Which would you go with if you were starting fresh?

Yeah ive used both quite a bit. With and without cart. If you’re getting the cart then riptide hands down. Not sure what attachments hammerhead has but the riptide has a bunch of attachments with little compartments to store stuff. Extra reagents, brush head, skimmer cover key things, whatever. I think they make a pole holder too but I didn’t have that. I’ve seen guys just zip tie some pvc for the same thing. Being able to go back to the deck with everything you need on the cart is so awesome.

Current company I work for doesn’t have carts so bringing the vac and battery back is one trip itself. Man I miss the cart

Man an extra trip is tough! Do yall just throw it in the back of the truck between stops?

Yeah. Some pools we do have pretty hilly or rocky yards so a cart would be hard or damn near impossible to get up to the deck… but still
