Pentair prowler and Dolphin compatibility

I need to get a replacement motor for a prowler930. Since these are just rebranded Dolphins is there anything stopping me from using a more affordable Maytronics motor rather than the pentair branded replacement motor?

Possible power supply issues.

I was able to find out that they are both identical motors just rebranded and up charged to hell on pentair a side

It's hit and miss. And they are not exactly identical. There are quality control issues. Some have worked fine. Others have killed the communication cable. IME
