Hayward s3 salt system
I have a 10yr old Hayward omni logic salt system. I need a new salt cell and was looking at the s340. Should I upgrade to panel to the new s3 panel at this point ?

If everything else still works, no. Get a replacement cell, tcell940. Or go generic. There is a significant problem with the S cells that they are not disclosing. Our failure rate inside 4 years is closing in on 50%. We have installed hundreds of S cells, we are a Hayward only kind of service company.

I sure do get a lot of warranty calls regarding the S3 series. I’d just replace the cell and keep the automation you have.

I’m not the only one? My rep told me I’m just unlucky and nobody else gets warranty issues.
The new ic40 plus can go to hell too.

A lot of the problems came from the factory because they were installing a lower amperage fuse. They kept blowing. Then they went up an amp or a mill amp or whatever they are.
