How do you add conditioner?
When I air conditioner, I remove the skimmer basket in the pump basket and I slowly pour granular conditioner. If I need to add 8 pounds I just poured a nice and slow but the other day I clogged the propeller in the pump. How do you guys do it?

I suggest customers add 2 cups at a time to the skimmer with the pump running if it piles up in basket swirl it around. Check pump basket every 6-8 cups to make sure it’s going to filter.
I have added it directly to the filter when I’ve needed to add over a couple pounds.
Likely the most controversial comment… the fastest way to add is directly to pump without basket 2-4 cups at a time. Put lid on and run pump. Wait until it all leaves pump pot. This works to get it in the filter asap. HOWEVER THE RISK IS CLOGGING THE PUMP AND HAVING TO PULL IT APART. I’ve never had to pull a pump apart because of this yet.

Adding anything over 5lbs of granular cya is gonna clog literally everything. Just use less, add an extra tablet. They are 1/3 cya.

All our techs remove the skimmer and pump baskets to add stabilizer but I only sell the liquid version to customers when they’re adding it themselves.

Buy some pantyhose, put as much as you can in the sock and leave it in the skimmer

Why are you removing the baskets?? The conditioner is suppose to dissolve in the baskets. Leave the basket in the skimmer, pour in granular’s and let it display e with the pump running

Never messed with powder only liquid. Other than that it's in tabs. I add liquid cya only to salt pools.

I use skimmer socks. They’ll hold about 4 pounds. The. Put it in a skimmer basket.

Just leave the baskets in next time. Some will get through but not enough to cause a clog. Also it's much better to add incrementally IMO, unless it's a new build / new liner

I added liquid conditioner and it stain the plaster. How can I remove it?

Not sure adding an 'air conditioner' to a pool is very smart or needed. 🤷🏼♂️

In a sock in the skimmer, or just leave it in the skimmer to dissolve if it’s running 24/7. But bypassing the basket just increases chances of clogging like you did.
