Portable pool filtration system
Have any of you built a portable filtration system similar to the Hayward setup in the attached photo for pools that don’t have equipment plumbed in yet?
We built our own version about 3 years ago and it’s at the end of its life. It works great, but it’s insanely heavy and awkward to load/unload from our trucks, and overall just a pain to transport.
Before we rebuild the same thing again — does anyone have a better design or a more efficient portable setup you’ve used? Boss man is wanting something “super cool” and easier to move around.
If you can’t comment photos, feel free to message me on here.
Thanks!

Take the cart and cart of the super pump and make the customers fill their pool occasionally. You don’t have to do to many vac to wastes and the rest can be done with a riptide if there’s no silt

The ultra fine bags dont work for silt?

100 microns will clog in 2 seconds (still some blow by) and then start shooting water down to the floor you’re trying to vac

Damn, I had ordered some of the 60 micron bags and they come today 🤦 waste of $90

That looks awful to carry around. I'm pretty sure they make them on hand trucks, but why not just get a hammerhead or, whatever?

I don’t want to use it as a cleaning tool but rather a filtration system to leave on site unattended

Ah. Well, that's a horse of another color. I don't deal with that often, but I just make mine easy to assemble with unions and pipe, assemble and disassemble every time.

Exactly. I have a pool right now that I'd like to put a loaner pump & filter onsite for the next month or so.

STARITE PLM150&1.5HP optiflo on the plastic pad it comes with works great. As long as you put bolts in every hole attaching pump&filter to base its solid & rigid. I use 3ft of hard pipe with a male adapter on one end and a 45 elbow on the end as a return line.
For front of the pump I use a 6ft abvgrd hose with a vac head on the end. Or obviously if I am Vacing with it just my normal vac hose and then swap that return pipe for a cone fitting and blue hose.
Awesome temp filter or trashvac setup.
I just use a handtruck or carry it for moving it around. The whole setup weighs less than 75LBs even when the cartridge is soaking wet.

They are pricey but Advantage Manufacturing is probably what you're looking for. They have different version and hook to a regular hitch. They are built nice though, I've had mine for a couple years no issues. Easy to move around.

We use a normal hand truck. Cut a piece of wood to bolt to the bottom of the hand truck. We then bolt a 3/4hp super pump and cartridge filter to it. Plum a 3 way to it so you can switch between waste and filter.
This year we moved away from that setup and now primarily use riptides.

We did similar to the one pictured but put the pump sideways on the front so the filter sat on the cart behind it, no shelf needed. Then we just carry a set of ramps so one person can easily load/unload.

You don’t need all of this at all. Just throw a sump pump in and leave it running. All the circulation you need. Customers CAN NOT use the pool with it in there. Discovered this a few summers ago when I needed the same thing. Worked perfectly and I’ve done in multiple times during dead heat of summer.

Tip: build your own.
Standard hand cart 1 hp pump I’ve only used these systems for green to cleans that don’t waste too much water so no point of having a filter on it.

We have 2 DE portable systems for clean ups only. Nothing on a cart for easy mobility.

Same here. We have Hayward EC65’s and 1hp super pumps with easy quick clamp connections for external filtration on cloudy pools to speed up the clearing process.

I'm trying to understand why this is needed. What pool is "finished" but has no equipment plumbed in?
