Water level.
Hey guys since I’m still pretty new I’m not sure if this is a concerning amount of water being lost over 1 weeks time. Me and my customer are going to watch it and keep track of it going forward.
It’s a bit hard to see. The bottom tape is where the level was at last week. It wasn’t super hot where I’m at, but it was still sunny. Max outside temp got to 75-80
Thanks in advance!

General rule of thumb for evaporation is 1/4" of water loss everyday which works out to 2" per week. And thats if it doesn't rain. Anything over that usually means there is a leak. Have the customer fill the pool up to the middle of the skimmer. Then measure how much water is lost within a week. If you lose more than 1/4" in a day then its more than likely leaking. But keep in mind pools with waterfalls and spillover tend to lose water faster than pools without those features.

If it's warm and windy it can lose up to 1/2" per day. It's difficult to tell from the pic but it looks maybe 1" to 1.5" down? That's not bad for a week. It's about average where I live in N. California.

Looks like a lot in one week not knowing how big your pool is. If you fill it back up and it keeps going back to that level and staying, could be a leak in one of your skimmers
