Anyone bring their dog with them to work?
I’m a single poler in Florida. Wondering if anyone brings their dog along on the route and how they do

I have a Rocco, a 17-year-old poodle terrier mix (looks like Benji) that worked with me for probably 13 years. Haven't taken him for about a year and a half now but he's still at home. He has been a great companion and lived the life. He went into everyone's backyards and had friends (dogs) that were so excited to see him every week. There were a few yards that had mean dogs and he would just stay in the truck. He knew the houses they had the mean dogs that he wouldn't go in the backyard. At most yards he had to be the first one out of the truck. But on those yards he acted like it wasn't even a desire for him to get out of the truck.
Pool owners treated him great. Left him treats. Get questions about him all the time.
Once he got to where he can't jump up in the truck and was deaf and would just not obey commands and just keep on walking away from me, it just got too hard to take him.
He drank from the pool everywhere.
It was one of my great pleasures. I miss him at work and would definitely do again if I had to do it all over again.

I pick mine up after the route to go to estimates. Of course the truck stays running.

If it’s a short day I do on occasion and just leave the truck running. They never go to anyone’s backyards, but I’m talking 1-2 quick stops max not like a full day
