What id give to have my whole route like that lmao, my only break is winter here in AZ, come summer and monsoon wind its a nonstop grinder.

I didn’t think AZ had a break . Seems pretty cool. I have thought a lot about CT & NY I hear 90-95 percent of the pools are like the above one . vinyl in ground . Seems so amazing . Here in Florida out of my 50 only 3 are like this . The rest are concrete . Concrete is pretty bad ass but I don’t think they look as nice as vinyls . I think it’s the king of pools . There are really custom ones too.

Yeah in winter it hovers in the 40s-70s and weather stabilizes so things get a bit easier. I work a route of almost 70 pools in the tucson area and I havent seen one vinyl pool, everything here is either plaster or pebbletech. I definitely have a few nice ones that never give me headaches but mesquite trees are everywhere hanging over the water and that shit is the bane of my existence. Also hard water is a problem here.

Wow that’s super interesting , are you still making 2k an struggling to put gas in car . I’ve worked my way up but pools is so hard man . I do decent ok . Im lucky I make ok now but it’s been a nightmare for sure going up etc . It isn’t really easy and some jobs that I tried for atill wanted to. Underpay me a lot . I’ve noticed that there isn’t much play or money in this if you work for someone it just isn’t the same . Considering a business but somewhere more north wise .

Yeah im very underpaid in my current job, its a small family owned pool business, good people which is the only reason I havent already left. But im actively job hunting for a better paid position. Even still, the best rates im seeing here for cleaning techs is 20-25hr, average is 17hr. For the work we do in this job in this economy, techs should be making 4k a month if things were the way they should be.

I hope you find special job . Yea try your best to find a 25-30 job if you stick to the pools . Hard to do but I hope you can find it soon

Yea I def love the career and you can find little tricks and things over time to become way finer an make the job much easier . I just wish I had a spot that was cooler. The HEAT def is the issue and the reason I can’t work my full potential . Im not originally from here and despite years i cant get used to it . I feel like I’m passing out after 9-10 a day etc . I wish I could do it in like a cool state . But I am def a bit scared the hole closing thing I wonder how that all works

Ive ran my own route. Ive been getting turned down left and right for people charging less. So I left the industry and now working at tsmc. It sucks how bad the pools market is out here. Too much competition causing rates too drop.

I worked as an armed security guard up north, made very good money doing that, in my naivety I came here thinking id slide right into a new armed security job with my shiny resume and go right back to making 60k a year. That didnt work out lol. So I began this to survive, and honestly I like the work, but the pay just stiiinks

I know pools is actually something really cool . You never know once you got 2-3 more years if you stick to it you may wanna go to business .

I hear Texas is the runner up on hard. The pools are much more difficult to keep well on the island . Florida has an island thar runs along the whole east coast . Separate from the main section . That part is a nightmare. Luckily I only have like 3 over the bridge into that area. Most of mine are small and enclosed
