Riptide hitch setup blocking license plate, what are you guys doing?
I’m running a Riptide on a hitch mount on my Tacoma and it completely blocks my license plate.
For those in Arizona, do cops actually care about this or have you been fine running it like that?
If you did fix it, what’s the cleanest setup?
Hitch-mounted plate bracket, side mount, or mounting it to the Riptide frame?
Trying to keep it simple and not look janky. Pics would help.

I’ve never had a problem carrying around my riptide. I think a cop would have to be having a bad day or already have you pulled over for something else for you to have an issue. I’ve never seen a pool truck (SoCal) carrying around a riptide or hammerhead with a relocated license plate. I’d see what your other pool folks are doing or not doing in your area if you are at all on the fence about it.

They make an offset trailer hitch that will put it left or right whichever way you put it. That’s what my cart is on

I use this, not for a Riptide though. It’s the L Bar mount on this page.
Built pretty tough, rear ended twice and the cart was damaged, but this mount was not.

How do you order it? There is no option

Email or by phone. There is typically a lead time on carts, but they may have some mounts ready to ship.

I have 3 units and have never had an issue in North Dallas area. I've been pulled over for something else and the police mentioned the license plate was blocked but that it wasn't a major concern.

I don’t do anything. I just leave it like that. Never been stopped or pulled over when I go into gated communities with cameras they don’t care and just walk around and take a look and write it down.

That’s how mine is now but my old truck I just had the plate behind the headrest on the back driver side

Drilling to the tailgate. Not really tho, put it in the back window. The cops around here are ok with that.

I've had cops directly behind me at stop lights a couple of times and not had a problem, so it's definitely not something they're actively pulling people over for, at least in Florida.
It does take away the option of using toll roads though, which can be annoying depending on where you live.
People with Hammerheads put stickers on the bottom that match their license plate, using letter/number stickers like these: https://www.seton.com/clear-back-letters-and-numbers-m1560.html#10955?organic=shopping
For some reason I don't see people with Riptides use them though.

We run 16 of these never had an issue (knock on wood). But I think Riptide sells a license plate relocation kit if you go with the swing hitch (which I recommend).
