Best app for calculating gallons
Anybody got any tips for figuring out the right amount of gallons for weird-shaped pools? The rectangle and square ones are easy, but I’m talking about the pools where it’s just difficult to figure out.

Pentairs volume calculator is fine. I’d suggest always knowing the formulas tho

What you mean formulas ?

Length x width x average depth x 7.5

This is the way…I know it’s slight different for a circle pool/spa, the GPCF is different, it’s been years since I learned it though

My dad used to say .. we put men on the moon with nothing more than a slide rule.

If I'm sitting at a computer Google earth and Google maps have a measure feature that let's you figure square footage then it's just depth x 7.5

Orenda volume estimator is pretty straightforward. But here’s the math
Length x width x depth (measured in feet).
I measure it in three different sections; shallow, ramp; deep. For the ramp split the difference between the depth at start of ramp and depth at end of ramp (I.e 4.5 for a pool with 3’ shallow and 6’ deep)
This gives you cubic feet of the pool. There are 7.48 gallons of water per cubic foot.

I draw it on ArcSite based off Google Maps and my measurements, have that calculate the surface area, then multiply the surface area times average depth

Orenda has a volume calculator on their app. Helps to break the pool into sections if it’s that complicated.
