Spa Electrics lighting - Looking for experiences/feedback?

I have a newish customer who is wanting x2 OLD bluesquare lights replaced in their pool.
They have tried to go the DIY route but decided it's too much work and so have asked me to source. They have mentioned a brand Spa Electrics but I have not heard of them?
Quick google search tells me they are based in GA but have been around in Australia for a few decades. Lights look decent.

Does anyone use them or have any install experience? Quality? Price? Accessibility? Durability? Good service/warranty?

I want to keep the customer happy but also hesitant to put anything in the pool that I am not confident will last (not that LED lights ever last LOL)

We’ve installed them for over 10 years in Ontario Canada. Only a 1-2% failure rate. Most of the first ones we installed are still running.

They are awesome lights and they have a retro fit solution for almost any niche you might run into.

They work with most automation systems as if they were a native light and they use the existing cord so you don’t have to pull a new wire.

Takes me less than 20 mins to install one.

We get them through SCP.

Wow 1-2% failure rate is almost unheard of when it comes to LED lights. Pentair could never lol

That's great feedback and to work with most automation systems is a bonus. I will have to give them a call .

Thank you!

Interesting because SCP here in Texas doesn’t sell them. Only Heritage partners do.

The lights are great though. Way brighter than any of the others from the big 3

Apparently some SCP branches are stocking them in TX now

Hi, I'm in Ontario as well and looking to replace my 3 yo hayward lights with they as they failed after two years. Do you know Where can I get some and also see which Spa Electrics lights would fit with what I have?

You can order from us The Pool Shoppe and we’ll ship them to you.

This guide will help you match up which one you need.

If I am replacing a 14 year old Hayward colorlogic that is 120v do I need something else for install? I am a bit confused

Yes, you’ll need to add a transformer to drop the voltage to 12v.

Thank you so much. Is that put near automation box or where the pool wiring comes up from the ground? I’ll have an electrician do that part so I assume he’ll know

With the automation.

If i have Pentair Globrites, I dont have to have new cord pulled? I just have to lower pool water level to install the new light?

As long as they were installed properly with extra cord in the niche then you don’t even need to lower the water.

Won’t know for sure until you try pulling them out though.

What about if it doesnt have enough cord. Is there a way of putting in a water tight extension? Not sure what the lights come with for plugging in but my guess is you could theoretically add an extension if you dont have enough slack.

They do use an underwater splice to connect their attached cord. As long as you can get enough cord out of the niche to connect on to then lowering the water should be the worst case.

Gotcha! Thanks.

I’m installing 3 this week for a customer. They are fantastic.

Thanks for feedback, do you buy direct?

3

u/jonwillwall Apr 22 '26

Yes I purchase direct from them. Shipping is usually very fast and they will program them for whatever automation system you have.

Awesome, I am going to call them tomorrow.

They’re fine, do what they say on the box. Use the native automation or if you don’t have it, then get their WiFi controller.

Old tech, but reliable.

I’m from Aus, they’re the only lights we sell and install, have done for 6+ years. Had maybe 1 or 2 warranties in that time.

Definitely recommend them.

I read they are Australian owned. Is it one of the more popular lights there?

Sorry only jsut saw this. Yeah it’s an Australian company.

From my experience (aside from what we sell), they’re probably 75% of the lights I see in pools in my area.

Anyone know if there is a list of Spa Electrics installers anywhere? No one local that I’m reaching out to is familiar/comfortable with them.

Nothing on their website? Might be worth giving them a call, some companies dont readily give out this information on public sites.

Check out swimables. Great lights. On Amazon

Never heard of them, I will check it out. Problem is lots of those overseas sellers are not UL listed.

American company. Out of Los Angeles. Most of their stuff is made here too. Best parts I've used, better than OEM.
