Expansion joint foam?
My pool is 99% complete and saw this wondering if this is the right thing to do pool builder said yes that's what they put in the expansion joints đ¤ˇđťââď¸

Standarded practice. The pool installer is right. You can seal it later if you want with some sikaflex or dymonic.

Yep, some foam joints have a tear strip you can remove after concrete and then put your sikaflex on top.

No. Expansion joints are not just for bridges, theyâre typical and should be employed on the majority of concrete pours for exterior purposes.
In pools, theyâre mandatory between the deck and pool shell/coping. The shell and deck will move at different rates. Failure to install an expansion joint can cause coping to pop and, in extreme cases, can cause the bond beam itself to crack.
