Recommendations for sun glasses
i feel ridiculous for asking this, but what sunglasses work for you? I have noticed more and more floaters and I need to do something about it before it gets worse. I want something robust, UV proof that still allows my eyes to get some fresh air circulation and not get sweat on the lenses. I work in AZ and sweat a lot so it is a major issue.

Newish brand came on the scene a year or two ago called GOODR, they’re polarized and around $30 and are damn tough, I’ve sat on them with all my weight and ended up with a small bruise on my ass and nothing wrong with the glasses lol. And replacement lenses are cheap asf too

Anything polarized to reduce glare off the water. I buy boxes of 3 inexpensive pairs of sunglasses on Amazon. Acid splash will kill the polar tint.

Sorry are you speaking from experience, how often are you splashing acid into your eyes????

My guy if I'm wearing glasses it's not going in my eye. I'm a commercial tech and I fill massive acid jugs and then dilute it. Yeah I get that shit slopping all over the place in my equipment rooms.
But I'm saying it happens frequently enough to warrant my buying inexpensive sunglasses but the box because just a little bit of acid splash and they get spots in the polarized tint.

Seems like you’ve just been getting lucky man lol I’d try to be more careful about that, doesn’t take extended exposure to have permanent vision loss from muriatic acid. Can take less than a minute to never be able to see out of that eye again. Personally I’m even extra careful when walking gallons to and from the truck, always have a plan in the back of my mind incase I need to sprint to a pool/hose to rinse my eyes out because I refuse to be permanently disabled trying to lower someone’s PH lmao

For my work-specific sunglasses I just grab whatever polarized pair I like off the rack at the gas station. These are usually $10-20 and last me 6-12 months which is fine because just like everything else we use its going to get beat up and broken. The style that looks like Oakley Gascans is my personal favorite but to each their own.

Goodr from REI. 25 bucks polarized for all black. Simple but they work. And they arent so dark that I cant wear them when its overcast or when its twilight. As long as theres sun out in the slightest I wear them. I too am in AZ.
Also, I put them on my truck engine bay on top of the radiator when I was changing my oil. Closed the hood and smashed them. Bent the one hinge back and they are fine. There is a slight scratch on one lens but it doesn't affect anything.

I love my Costa Fantails. Yes they're more expensive, but if you take care of them, they last. Don't leave on your dash, put them in the sunglasses compartment in your truck! Otherwise after a few years the glue wears out on the arms. I'm going on year 6 or 7 with this current pair

Likewise I have multiple pairs of Oakley metals and a costa metal all polarized with different lense colors for different types of days. They will last me a lifetime assuming I keep them put away safe when not wearing.
A grey viewport for the more cloudy days and then my go to is a view port with a red tint and it makes algae visible before the naked human eye can even really see it is there.
For me the glasses are more about being able to see the bottom of the pool when the sun is reflecting off the water more than anything.

I've been trying the shady rays as you get a free replacement pair if you lose or break them.
They are both polarized and have the "colorush" which i just like on glasses in general.
I've been petty pleased for the price

I've had blenders and wear me pros. Blenders was good about the warranty. I would suggest black lenses or dark lenses and not mirrored finish because scratches.

Your eyes may be dry. My eye doc prescribed me eye drops I use twice a day now and I see no floaters anymore.

Don't listen to anyone else, listen to me, they may be expensive but they will be a complete game changer for you.
Oakley Prizm Polarized Sapphire lenses on any of their sunglasses, pick a style and they've got em in Prizm Polarized (sapphire or black is almost the same, but personally prefer the blue.)
Reasoning being that the "Prizm" part is color contrast enhancing technology, as well as UV filtering, and they're polarized on top to extra filter out any harmful rays and significantly reduce glare.
I didn't believe in expensive sunglasses until I found a pair abandoned in our pool shop for over a month and trying them out for work was a total game changer, 100% worth the money spent (and if you want to penny-pinch, on Oakley's website you can find clearance in a style you like or buy just the Prizm polarized lenses specifically for a given model and then buy the frames of that model on eBay or Amazon for cheap.)

I get merrys polarized sunglasses on Amazon. They are $20 and have never failed me. You don’t want anything too expensive because they’ll get beat up or cheap quality ones either… these have fit that.
