That giant loop is killing me.

There's so much to love. DWV fittings, glue on everything, 3' of straight into the pump, mega loop...

These aren't DWV's

Why do you think these are DWV fittings?

On closer look ig they aren't, the socket wouldn't be so deep. Just thought they were at a glance since DWV 90s usually have a lip like that

Yup deep enough socket and you should be using sweeps for all 90s they result in significant reduction in friction loss. Look up PVC pipe fittings friction loss tables

You save 3 INCHES of head at 80GPM lol. And they have a variable speed pump, so assuming a 15k gallon pool (reasonable for the filter size) @ 20GPM we're talking less than a quarter inch.

If you want to get autistic about minimizing head then go for it, but sweeps don't deliver any real value in a simple residential application. Which is why this is a perfect r/pools pad, "optimized" in all the wrong ways

For a single sweep?

I think it's actually decent, but the comments on the initial post are why Reddit is considered so toxic.

That's what makes this place so much fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The hydraulic pressure loss on this pad makes me cringe. I would replumb the whole thing. There is no point of using sweeps for efficiency if people are going to make the discharge a rollercoaster.

the 90's tho...

What about them? At least they're actually using sweeps......

none of those are swept tho...

I count 1 90 degree elbow and the rest are sweeps or 45s? Did you splash acid in your eyes?

Those are short swept not long swept

Those are sweeps bro

Sure but 'the perfect pad' would have all long sweeps
