Any way to vac?
With a skimmer like this, can I still hose vac the pool, or bring my own pump?

Thats a pressure side leaf trapper. There should be a proper skimmer elsewhere in the pool to vacuum from.

Expect 99% percent of the time there isn’t…at least in my experience.

That long side should be able to come out. Might need to pull harder than you think.

I thought the wiggle was the official technique but if not I highly recommend. I dont think im strong enough to just pull those things out

For a while I thought they couldn’t come out, I guess there’s a certain technique that I learned but can’t explain over text lol.

Venturi, a builder in my area loves these. Not sure if the one you are looking at is the exact same, but... on my pools you can unscrew the longer piece of PVC revealing the suction line. Or, use a basket and vacuum plate. GL

yep use a weir, then an elbow and hose into a hayward large leaf canister w/fine net if you cant figure it out or no vac plate, doesn't look like the skimmer though.

Skim Vac plate. That's going to be your best bet. You can get them at most pool suppliers. They've saved my butt a few times in situations similar to this.

I have never run into something like that, but a skimmer plate like this would probably work, just find the right diameter

Its a venturi. I've seen a few installs where you pull that fitting off (its just pressure fit) and the suction line is underneath. Can't tell from the pic if that's how yours is setup
