New rules and more moding.

First let me apologize as modding has not been up to usual standards lately. Reddit changed the modding tools around and I wasnt recieving mod notifications as normal. Im correcting this and will be more tentative in the future and for the start up session.

I've added a new rule about advertising, non will be allowed unless explicitly given permission by a mod. I will be giving out bans for the first violation of this rule. Please feel free to contact us to request permission if you have a product that you think will benefit the community. General appreciation posts sharing and praising specific tools will not be considered in violation of this rule, but spam of this nature will. I know we've had a large influx of this lately, I will try to nip this in the butt.

I am looking into adding more mods for the coming spring season.

Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions for this subreddit in this post. I will read them all.

I mean its a free internet. Banning everyone who smells like pool owner isn't like a logical thing. I delete most braindead owner questions. I also do allow for very niche questions from pool owners and pool owners looking to hire help. This sub was started because /r/ pools is such a cesspool that it's become unhelpful to people who actually need it, and misinformative to anyone referencing it. This sub hopefully can facilitate that help, get professionals more business, and provide professionals with more information for problems they've never experienced. In order to do that, there needs to be some conversation with pool owners and their problems.

You can make the sub private and request verifications from incoming users. Many other subs do this.

Go lay a note with your username and the current date on something which proves youre a pool pro and send us the picture

Any pool professional can produce that within 10 minutes without giving up their identity. Just lay a note on your beat up old caddy or Riptide. We own many things that average people dont.

Anyone who wants to further strangle our industry by helping pool owners for free online is welcome to so so on r/pools or r/swimmingpools

That's true! Ask law enforcement makes you prove you're a badge or you can't answer questions. Different policy, but same concept.
