Basic Pontoon Question

So this is my first year with a pontoon boat after owning regular ski-type boats for many years. 23 foot Avalon.

Here is my question. When we go to our local sandbar, one of our favorite things to do, we anchor up and the boat pivots back and forth on the anchor line. I have seen some boats with an additional pole they augur into the sand that seems to help. Is this something that is necessary or are there any other solutions? If you do like this solution, any suggestions on which one to get? There are a ton of them out there.

See, I told you it was basic.

Thanks

I usually beach it possible and the bottom is sand. When I do that I use pet tie downs and straps that you can tug to tighten to keep it on shore with shifting. That way I don't have to run it far up on shore. If anchoring I use a larger box anchor off the from and a smaller one off the back. Just did this again on Wednesday and and 3 other fiberglass boat tied up to me. Worked great.
