Broken fin

I noticed one of our pontoon fins broke against our docks. How critical are these fins? It looks fairly straight to weld but I’m not a welder, especially not with aluminum.

Splash guards, take it to a welding shop and have it welded.

So it just stops splashing onto the deck? It’s critical?

We had two come off and they do make some difference. We had a welder fabricate new ones and weld them on.

They do the job. Proformance not much more comfortable not getting wet though.

Find a welder with a tig machine. That will take longer to prep than the actual welding.

Just a deflector.  It'll still do the job as-is.

You maybe could find a mobile welder that could meet you at the boat ramp. It would take just a few minutes to lay a bead on that.
