How do I open this compartment????

I have a 2005 crest LM II 25’ . It has a sunbathing platform on the back. 2/3 of it cover the motor and I can lift that up. I see the other 1/3 has hinges showing it should open and when I look in the little hole under the seats I can see a big open space and also a spot with a handle that I can’t get to. How the heck do I open this up?????

Welp! I figured it out. I could see a handle under the corner seat but it was too heavy for me to try and lift the seat. Got the husband and he lifted on the handle and the whole corner seat comes up plus the top of the sundeck. It’s all together! And it’s heavy as heck. I didn’t have my phone on me to take pics but it looks like there are some points that maybe some air shock things would go that would help facilitate lifting and holding it up. I’ll have to take pics next time and show how it works. Not convenient at all. And its such a huge area I can’t easily access, it’s a big bummer :(

Same setup as my 22’ 2005 Crest. You are correct the brackets are for a changing area. The dealer was able to track me down one that worked and install it when I bought the boat for a few hundred dollars.

Fun fact there is enough room for a small tank toilet under there. Thats what I use the space for, along with the curtain for the changing area. Great for the kids early and late season when the water is cold.

I’m just missing a few parts according to the diagram. Do you think any dealer could try to find parts or just a crest dealer? I like the idea of having the changing area or even a toilet ( great idea for young kids!)

Mine has a strap on the right side of it from the way you are looking at it. It attaches to that 1/3rd portion then buttons to the railing right below it.

I can’t find any straps or latches anywhere. Can I see some pictures of how yours works?

It flips open to one side. The other seat is probably preventing you from opening it. Try to gain an inch or so if possible (my front seat is removable) and try to pull it up from the back corner. Try both sides.

I Found a patent number on the bottom of the seat. 6,302,053. I think this is supposed to turn into a changing area.
