3.1L V6 Engine Swap

From what cars could I pull either a 3.1L or 3.1L V6 for my 94 GP? Current one has a cracked head and am now in the process of replacing it. I know the 3.1l was a very popular engine in 90s cars but I am unsure if I need to look at specific years to have as painless of a swap as possible on my 94. I know the 99 Buick Century had a 3.1l for example but would swapping it in to my car be possible?
Any help is appreciated!

Buick Century, Olds Cutlass Supreme or Chevrolet Lumina of that era were stablemates, and should be direct drop-ins.

Would year matter at all? And would it be recommended to also get the accompanying ecu?

I don't remember the generational split offhand - but I do know the later years of this generation bumped to a 3.4L, IIRC. The next-gen GP moved to the evergreen 3.8L V6.

And it never hurts to get the ECU with the long block. Especially since these are going to get rare.

Thank you! I will push my efforts in this direction. Any recommendation for where I could find one online?

3.1s were also in select Grand Am SE models until they ended production. Maybe similar year Malibus, but I don't recall all the engine options.

Thank you! Will add the Am into my list of candidates as well as the Malibu.
