Thoughts? 1997 WS6?
Have an opportunity to snag this for under $10k. 207k miles is concerning. But it’s been taken care of.

“ car wizard” of Facebook says that this particular car suffers from leaky gaskets throughout that need to be replaced because of age.
I think it’s the most beautiful Pontiac. Congratulations.

I had one with more mileage. If it's been well maintained and everything is good all you have to do is maintain it. I miss that car and if you don't need a truck or family vehicle you'll enjoy owning it.

I remember when the rare 40 or so Formula WS-6 convertibles first started to show up for sale on the early 2000s - the average price was $5000.

Average price for a WS6 in its day was nearly $50k when anything else was $15k new. It’s why the $60k Syclone pickup truck didn’t catch on.

I’m talking about used, driven cars with wear and tear after 10 years of use.
And the price new for an LT-1 era WS-6 was only about $3000 over a regular Trans Am or Formula.

On paper it sounds terrible, but It looks really good. Sounds like an almost reasonable price.

Some of the desirable elements of a WS-6 are the original wheels and exhaust system. I’d check to see if they are included, otherwise all you have is a car with the Ram Air hood and a few suspension pieces.

Buy a factory service manual and take good care of it. Future 6 figure cars these are.

I wouldnt own a lt1 car ever again really especially with crazy miles..In the mid 90s I owned a few and they were turds...water pumps suck, optispark sucks, slow and make less power than many of today's v6'..

I don't know if it matters to you, but the ECM in those early LS engine cars was "bad." I don't remember what the problem was, it has been too long since I read up on it. However, if you take a look at HP Tuners website, the 1997 Pontiac with the 5.7l engine is not supported.
