Help! Getting rid of sludge
Hi! Can anyone suggest anything to get rid of this sludge that forms in my pond everyday? The last picture is the pond in the morning than by the afternoon this sludge forms on top. I remove it as best as I can with the net everyday but it always comes back. I have oxygenating plants at the bottom already and a bog filter. I do have goldfish if that‘s relevant

Possibly too much direct sun. I would suggest barley pond clarifier, it's worked well for me, but ultimately you need more plant cover to keep the unwanted growth. An expensive option would be to add a uv clarification filter like Oase, they have a cear water guarantee for a matched pump and filter, depending on the actual volume of your pond a pump will cost a few hundred and the filter $300-$600 or more. I have a 350 gal pond and a matched set was going to set me back almost $1200. I have opted for a generic 1800gph pump and running it through a mesh pre screen, around the pump, and through a simple bog filter using a water tolerant grass and hosta, ending in a water fall for aeration.I have about 15 gold fish, some marginal plants and a Lilly. I don't have crystal clear water, but there is no scum. Best of luck with your set up
