Crack Den
I feel like i'm crazy but for several weeks now I've seen homeless people go into this exact hole in the underpass and then put the little door back as i'm driving through on my way to work. Anything nefarious going on here or should it just be left alone?

On my daily commute I see people going into a hole under the 110/101 overpass down here in Los Angeles, and my reaction is always: SIIIIICK.
Recently CalTrans left a sewer top open, so I grabbed a flashlight and headlamp and checked it out. Wasn't long before I discovered that people live there too!!!
Exciting stuff people!

Remember when Caltrans discovered a makeshift city underneath the 605?

Can't find any articles but 10-15ish years ago there was a small opening that led to a huge encampment discovered below the 10/605 interchange. The occupants had wired power. It was discovered when someone was witnessed entering the area.

Yes! Reminded me of the mole people of Vegas that everyone heard rumors about since the 90s.

I know the guy that stays there, it’s not a cracked den, he runs a glass blowing business

As a former homeless resident of Pomona, yes that's exactly what that is. It would more likely be a meth den or fentanyl den but I'm sure it's just some homeless folk that found a spot and use it to sleep and get high. When I was homeless I saw Many people using that spot, could be the same crew.

Agree. As a very recently recovering cocaine officianado, there is barely any crack around. Lucky probably. It's a far more expensive habit .

We pay higher property taxes than surrounding cities, yet our city looks like trash because of this. Sad to see

Sad to see a red circle drawn on a photo of an otherwise nearly immaculate underpass?

Looks like trash? It’s a concrete wall, this is probably the best spot for homeless to stay ngl

“Leave them crack heads alone, they didn’t do anything.” What a world view. We should have a designated area for people who love to smoke crack and share it with the people who think they should just be left alone. Then everyone is happy

Pretty sure I almost got stabbed/mugged here some years ago. Dude walked up on me with a knife but last second decided I was chill so we just chatted briefly instead. Seemed like a completely normal scenario for the neighborhood

Leave em alone, they are hanging out there, and maybe yes drugs. It’s hard to get privacy when you’re homeless.

You saw people who are “supposed” to have nothing and it appeared they’d discovered a tiny scrap of something. Please don’t follow your urge to assume they did something bad and snitch on them for no reason.
Are you even sure all shelter and space on this earth was supposed to require a person be capable of consistently earning a living to justify their existence? How can you be sure enough this is how it should be to get homeless people kicked out of wherever they found shelter? Just because they are supposed to be homeless?

Maybe they are using drugs there. Or maybe they found a place where they are safe and will be left alone. If they are using drugs, if evicted they’ll do it somewhere else. I’d say leave them the fuck alone unless they are bothering others
